Akane Saruta (born April 9, 2042) is an American football safety who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. She played college football for Kwansei Gakuin University (Kangaku) and has declared her intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years
Akane Saruta was born on April 9th, 2042, in Kyoto, Japan. From a young age, Saruta was known for her intense anger. When she was suitably worked up in a frenzy, her mind would go into a trance, where she would lose all sense of self and intelligence. Her mind completely consumed by rage, she would estensially regress to a more "primal" state, which observers have often likened to be primate-like. Saruta's trances would completely subsume her life growing up, pushing her further and further away from family and peers, which would only go on to make her rage more. A vicious cycle dominated her life as a result, and she would eventually be disowned by her family in her high school years.
However, Saruta's rage would eventually also attract the attention of an ex-pat buissnesswoman, pseudonymously known as Vega, who would convince her to take up football as a means to regulate her emotions. Taking up the position of linebacker to suit her need to physically dominate opponents, Saruta quickly became a sensation within the Kansai region, and eventually all of Japan.
College career
After graduating high school, Saruta was immediately regarded as the highest graded prospect in all of Japan. However, due to the top heavy nature of Japanese collegiate football, Saruta very clearly gravitated towards the top school for football, Kawnsei Gakuin (Kangaku). Despite Saruta's legal issues and spotty academic history, the normally exclusive private Christian university was unprecedently interested in recruiting Saruta. Later reporting would also find a sizable donation to the university by a Ms. "Vega", which led to a minor controversy in itself when revealed. Despite the controversy, Saruta would enter the university in the 2059-2060 academic year. While playing linebacker in high school, the increasing size disparity between fully grown adult men and women nessecitated a positional switch to strong safety, emphasizing Saruta's increased mobility compared to traditional rushers.
Saruta would start for the Kawnsei Gakuin Fighters as a true freshman, where she was immediately a star impact player. Despite lacking many of the fundamentals of football, her increased aggression and raw physical strength led her to become an immediate player in run stuffing, along with an occassional pass rusher. In 2063, Saruta would go on to break Japan's single season record for forced fumbles in college football in her senior year, at seven. Additionally, Saruta won the MVP of the Koshien Bowl, in a victorious 20-3 rout of the Keiko Unicorns.
