Ace Savage (born July 21, 2018) was an American football runningback. He played college football for University of Tennessee (UT). Savage was selected 33rd overall in the 2041 DSFL draft by the Norfolk Seawolves.

Early years

Ace Savage was born in Saulsbury, Tennessee, a small rural town located along State Highway 57 in southwest Hardeman County to Simone Redd and Simon Savage aged 19 and 20 respectively. Savage‘s father was absent for much of his childhood, having been arrested 20 times for various crimes including drug and prostitution-related offenses, and was consequently in and out of prison and had trouble maintaining employment. His mother became a nurse and provided him with a stable household during his developmental years.

High School Career

Savage attended Lincoln High School, where he was a three-sport star in football, basketball, and track. He played as a running back for the Lincoln Cougars football team. He ran for 2,110 yards and 23 touchdowns as a freshman. He was named a first-team All-Coast at running back after rushing for 2,572 yards and 29 touchdowns while averaging 8.2 yards per attempt in his sophomore year. He rushed for 2,410 yards and 32 scores as a junior to earn first-team All-Coast honors from the Florida Times-Union. He set the Tennessee high school record with a 520-yard performance against Henderson Jackson and averaged 9.1 yards per carry and 310.4 yards per game as a senior, finishing the season with a state-record 4,199 yards and 52 touchdowns. He finished his high school football career with 11,986 career rushing yards, which broke Jermaine Cross' career record. He also rushed for 147 career touchdowns. As a track & field athlete, Savage competed as a sprinter at Lincoln from freshman to sophomore year. He was also a member of the 4×100 and 4×400 squads.

College career

Savage attended and played college football for the University of Tennessee from 2036 to 2039. He majored in Marketing. He graduated on May 4, 2040. That same day, he published an article in The Players' Tribune thanking his mother for the inspiration to continue pursuing his degree.

2036 season

As a true freshman in 2036, Savage rushed for 374 yards on 31 carries with three touchdowns. On October 19, against Tennessee, he had 111 rushing yards and his first collegiate rushing touchdown in the 27–7 victory. On November 23, against Chattanooga, he had eight carries for 79 yards and his second rushing touchdown of the season. During the 2036 Sugar Bowl, he rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and had a 32-yard touchdown reception in the 45–31 win over the Louisiana State Tigers.

2037 season

In the 2037 season, Savage shared time in the backfield with C. J. Hall. In the season opener against West Virginia, he had 104 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. On September 15, against Florida, he had 98 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. On October 17 against Texas A&M, he had 77 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, and a 24-yard receiving touchdown. In the SEC Championship against Missouri, he had 123 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the victory. Tennessee qualified for the College Football Playoff and faced off against Ohio State in the National Semifinals in the Sugar Bowl. Savage had 99 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, and one reception for 30 yards as Tennessee fell 42–35 to the Buckeyes. In his sophomore year, Savage rushed for 798 yards on 156 carries with 9 touchdowns.

2038 season

After Hall left for the NFL, Savage took over as the starting running back as a junior in 2038. In the season opener against Wisconsin, he had 142 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. In the next game, against Middle Tennessee State, he had 84 rushing yards and another game with three rushing touchdowns. In the next game against Ole Miss, he had 137 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, and three receptions for 39 yards in Tennessee's only loss of the season. After rushing for 47 yards against Louisiana–Monroe, he had 198 rushing yards and a touchdown in a victory over Georgia. On October 2, he rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown against Arkansas. After the victory over the Razorbacks, he went on an impressive stretch of performances. On October 10, against Texas A&M, he had 222 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, and an 8-yard reception. In the next game, a narrow 21–20 victory over Tennessee, he had 178 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. In the following game he had 178 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns against LSU. In the next game, against Mississippi State, he had 178 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Tennessee qualified for the College Football Playoff and faced off against Michigan State in the National Semifinals. In the 32–0 victory over the Spartans in the Cotton Bowl, he had 89 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. During Tennessee's 45–27 victory over Alabama in the 2038 College Football Playoff National Championship, he rushed for 147 yards on 30 carries with three touchdowns.
