As a baby it was rumored he never cried. As a young child Winter was always interested in sports, specifically soccer and football. It was apparent that he was extremely intelligent and athletic. Entering middle school he was always the topic of the conversation. He was always involved in the community, organizing fundraisers and volunteering for local elderly homes. In high school Winter excelled in Football, and decided to pursue it full time. Winter played both WR and Safety in High School, starting as both on varsity his sophmore year. Academically he was always on top of his work, and took advanced classes. Come senior year. he was a 3-Star recruit and committed to Virginia Tech, with a major in Mechanical Engineering. Friends recount how excited he was to tell his father, a VT graduate himself." 0 ==College career== 0 At Virginia Tech, Winter was a strong addition to the backbone of the VT defense. Although stats wise he wasn't the best, it was clear when you watched him the impact he made. After his freshman year he became a captain, and was on track to become a star. However at the start of his sophmore year he had a tragic injury, a torn ACL. Winter decided not to rush it, and to use this time to focus on his academic career. He managed to get his 3.6 GPA up to a 4.2, and rehabbed sucessfully. His junior year saw an impressive stat line, with 6 interceptions, 97 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, and 3 sacks. He was a well respected member of the team and enviroment. He decided not to declare for the draft early, and went to get his degree. His senior year saw an average performance with nothing notable, decreasing his stock. However Winter was perfectly fine and happy.
