Mo Gago (born February 29, 2016) is an American football defensive tackle who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Columbia University (CU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

"Mo Gago was born in the Philippines, the middle kid of 7 in his family, and only male. He spent his younger years in the Phillippines, until he was brought to the States by his aunt and uncle, after they wanted him to get a better life. Moving to Hobooken, New Jersey. He never return to the Phillippines until after his junior year of college.

When he came to the States he got a part time job to make some cash, working at an asian groccery store carrying heavier object around. That's where he did most of his weight training until he got into college.

He didn't play football until his senior year of High School, finally giving in to the head football coach asking him to join. And he was a naturally, playing well in that season, enough to get a scholarship from Columbia University, not a preimer stop, but at least a scholarship."

College career

"Because he was very green, Mo Gago redshirted his freshman year. In that year he was learning how to play both defensive and offensive side of the ball better, as well as how to improve his workout routine to improve both his strength and his cardio. He didn't get any in-game practice until near the end of the season.

Next year he would be a substitute for Columbia, playing both Center and Nose Tackle for them when they need to swap a guy out. It was quickly realized that he couldn't play offensive line at all and was instead told to only focus on the defensive side of things. He wouldn't make his first start until the third to last game of the season. His final three games were good but not anything to write home for.

In his sophomore year he would start the full time at Nose Tackle. He would get 4 sack from that position, and be a force, but not one that made a big impact to the casual fans.

It wasn't until his Junior, and last year, that he made a name for himself, as Columbia would end up playing Notre Dame, where he got 3 sacks in the game, making highlights across ESPN."

Professional career

DSFL Career

London Royals S37

Mo Gago would be picked up off waivers near the end of the S37 season by the London Royals. In this season he wouldn't play much, only starting 2 games. Doing nothing of relevance.

London Royals S38

After the season ending, Mo Gago would enter the S38 DSFL draft, and be taken 2nd Overall by the same team that claimed him, the Royals. Before the season started, Gago would be named the defensive captain by the Royals, despite the objection of Gago.

With the season starting, Gago would end up playing all 14 games for the Royals this season, but failed to make the DSFL playoffs with him and his teammates, as the Royals would finish with a 9-5 record, 3rd best in the league and conference. But despite that, Gago would be a solid force on the Royals roster, being the #2 DT for the Royals, and often lining up over the center. At the season end, Mo Gago would finish the season with 44 tackles, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble, which he would recover. His first sack would take a while to come though, as he would get in the week 11 start against Bondi, in which he sacked Smokin' Jay for the loss.

ISFL Career

Yukon Wraiths S39

After being drafted 12th overall by the Yukon Wraiths, Mo Gago would make his ISFL debut immediately. Being named the starting defensive tackle for the Wraiths, replacing previous defensive tackle Absolute Unit, who moved to defensive end. His rookie season would start out slow for Gago, as he'd get two or fewer tackles in his first 4 games. However during those 4 games, the Wraiths defense were lights out, not allowing a single TD, and only giving up 13 points, all which happened in the first game. In their next game, against the 2nd place Sailfish, the defense wasn't perfect, but Gago was able to rack up 5 tackles on the day. It would take until game number 7 for Gago to get his first sack on the season, as he would sack the Butchers QB in a 62-14 victory for the Wraiths. And to end the season, week 13, Gago would reach a career high in tackles, at 6. And in the end, he'd finish with 37 tackles and 2 sacks.

But the Wraiths season wasn't done there, as they would make the playoffs as the first seed and face the Butchers in the 2nd round. In a competitive game, despite what the final score says, the Wraiths would manage to pull out a victory to make the finals, with Gago getting 6 tackles in said game. And in the Ultimus, the Wraiths would destroy the defending champs in a 34-6 victory, with Gago playing a weaker role in the game, getting just 2 tackles.
