Luke Laraque (born May 7, 2040) is an American football defensive end for the Philadelphia Liberty of the National Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

Luke Laraque was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on May 7th, 2040 by father Bob and mother Lorraine Laraque. He spent most of his younger years playing a multitude of sports from basketball to ice hockey. His parents insisted he try out every sport and not specialize in one at a young age. Eventually he found his love of football sometime during his middle school years while playing pop warner football. Being a taller and heavier than average kid his youth coaches always had him playing on the offensive and defensive line. As a kid Luke didn't love this as most kids want to play skill positions where you contribute offensively. Through high school he found his love for playing defensive end, particularly sacking the quarterback. There is some sort of odd joy involved when you absolutely truck an opposing player, especially one who is guarded so heavily. Luke recieved more than a few collegiate scholarship offers to play Division 1 football in the NCAA. He settled on UNH as it was close to home.

College career

Even though he received multiple offers from Division 1 FBS teams, Luke had his heart set on University of New Hampshire as his destination. UNH plays in a subdivision of NCAA football called the FCS, it is the second tier of NCAA Division 1 football. As a true freshman Luke Laraque started in 1 game and played in 7, contributing 2 sacks and a forced fumble in his first year at the University of New Hampshire. As a sophomore he started in all 15 games for the Wildcats, contributing 9 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. He was named the defensive player of the year for the Coastal Athletic Association conference in his sophomore season in the FCS NCAA Division 1. In his final season before declaring eligibility for the draft, Luke started in all 13 games and led the nation in sacks and forced fumbles with 13 and 6 respectively. He won national defensive player of the year for the FCS and won defensive player of the year in the CAA.
