Joey Battle came into his final minor league season lacking focus. He had flirted with a career in baseball and rumors around the league thought Joey might not even make it to the ISFL. Amid all that, the GMs of Dallas in their final year deployed different strategies which ended up making year 3 of Joey the worst of his career. His numbers were down all across the board and he no longer was the leader the team had hoped for. He went under 100 tackles for the first time and he was used back in passing more often resulting in a career high 10 pass deflects, but reduced his tackle for loss to 8, force fumble and recovery to 1, and sacks to a career low 8. Joey even had for the first time had 0 interceptions even though he was back in receptions. Questions remained as if Joey would live up to his high draft potential or if he would flame out as a bust.

'''Season 46'''<br>

Joey Battle made his debut for the Chicago Butchers in S46. He played a more backup role the first half of the season before staring the latter half. He has was able to show strides as he ended the season with 49 tackles, 2 tackle-for-losses, 1 forced fumble, 1 forced fumble recovery, 4 sacks, 1 interceptions, 2 pass defends and 1 safety. So he was involved across the defense and took over as a solid defensive presence. He had to rely on the veterans to learn how to play the position but as the season progressed you could see the comfort level from the linebacker. He has great speed and agility but had been focused on improving his tackling through the season. As he looks to continue his improvement reviewing the year, the need to keep improving tackling will be where he hopes to be at a league leading level so he can look to take a step forward in the following year.

Joey Battle (born October 10, 2036) is an American football linebacker who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Oklahoma (OU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Joey Battle was born into a Reform Jewish family in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father passed away early in his childhood and his mother raised him and his two brothers. He used football as a way to overcome the tough living situation and excelled leading his team in high school. Because he could not afford tuition and he was such a large size at an early age, he worked as a club bouncer since high school to help pay for his tuition. He was an all-state linebacker leading the state in sacks, tackles and forced fumbles in his senior year. He gained nation-wide media coverage when he had a monster game in the state finals tallying 10 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 sacks to help shut down his opponents and go perfect in a magical senior season. He was voted the player of the game in the finals along with the Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

College career

Coming in as a four star high school prospect, he had 32 division I programs offering him a full ride scholarship. However, as he wanted to stay home with his family he accepted the offer to attend at the University of Oklahoma. He grew up idolizing Brian Bosworth and drew his play copying his very moves. However, his dreams of every playing for the team went awry when as working as a bouncer he was caught up in a scuffle with a rival kicker that left 2 guests dead. Even though Joey had acted in self-defense and did his best to protect the patrons, the judges sent him to four years behind bars. As part of his sentence, he was kicked off the team before he played a single down and joins the DSFL without ever having played a down in college. He still considers himself to be a Sooner even though he has officially been enrolled in the school for 2 weeks before he was let go.

Season 43
Joey Battle was drafted as the 4 OA pick in the 1st round by the Dallas Bird Dogs. Year 1 was a very impactful season for Joey Battle as he started and ended strong in his rookie campaign. He won the Defensive Rookie of the Year and was part of a strong 3 person star studded rookie linebacker trio along with A Waffle and Thor Dangerson. Joey was part of a 4 man LB group and led the team in tackles, force fumbles, sacks, safeties and defensive touchdowns. He helped lead the team into the playoffs and a division title although they ended up being upset in the division conference match. Joey played up to his loft draft status with his remarkable play. Along with veteran Cameron Wake, Joey was the heart and soul of the Bird Dogs defensive linebacker crew and looks to take on a more prominent role in the upcoming season as the defensive leader of the team. After the season and his two awards, he went 10 OAO to Chicago in the ISFL draft along with A Waffle.

Season 44
Joey Battle entered his second year with high expectations. The team had lost a lot of star defensive players and was on a two man wrecking crew as LB in Dallas. He had taken on the role left void by Cameron Wake and led the team in tackles with 111 and TFL in 17. Both were career highs for Joey. His sack numbers were still very solid with 11 and he continued to record an interception and safety. The team unfortunately exited the playoffs early which left a bad taste in Joey's mouth again. Joey has took on more of a leadership role on the defense and even with low expectations as a team, Joey lived up to his strong DSFL career having back to back amazing seasons. Despite having another great season, he unfortunately was left off award ballots amid concerns Joey might look to retire early and try another sport.

Season 45

Season 46
