Hank "Yeehaw Hank" Mardukas (born September 7, 2034) is an American football tight end who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Hank Mardukas was born in Vero Beach, FL, to mother Marie Mardukas and father Charles "Chippy" Mardukas. Hank grew up in the rural area of Yeehaw Junction, FL spending much of his childhood running around his parents farm. His parents often site his affinity for football started one Saturday afternoon when Hank was 7, "He just picked up the ball and ran 100 yards" his mom said in a 2052 AJC interview. Hank attended Vero Beach High School and played tight end. Het set the record for most yards by a TE in school history his Junior year and scouts started to notice him. His senior year Hank helped lead the Fighting Indians to state playoffs, only to lose in the second round to Lakewood Ranch High School. Hank received several P5 offers from Georgia Tech, Pitt, Purdue, Vanderbilt and Syracuse. After several visits Hank landed with Georgia Tech in Atlanta, citing a love for the sprawling city and Georgia Tech's academic offerings.

College career

Hank's freshman year at Georgia Tech had him as a second string tight end, but following a season ending injury for starter Brett Minkle, Hank started for 9 games completing 5 TDs and going for 350 yds. The following year Hank was brought up to starter and continued being a consistent threat for the Georgia Tech offense. Hank completed his fourth year at Georgia Tech in the 2054 season, helping carry the team to the Orange Bowl, scoring 9 TDs on the season for 600 yards. His most noteable game came during his Junior year against rival University of Georgia, totaling 2 TDs and 75 yards. During the game Hank received a 15 yard pass and proceeded to run 30 more yards for a touchdown after UGA safety tripped and missed the tackle. In celebration Hank ran to the sideline and put on an oversized cowboy hat, that event coupled with his hometown got him the nickname Yeehaw Hank. Following the end of his senior year Hank declared for the ISFL draft. Hank did complete his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a minor in finance.

2056 Season

In the season 41 DSFL Draft Hank Mardukas was selected third overall by the Minnesota Grey Ducks. The Season 41 prospect class consisted of 71 prospects a lot of which showed a lot of promise coming into the new season. Only two players were selected in front of Hank, Justa Ol’Shoe and Rico Suave both of which have since chosen different career paths. Hank joined the ducks as part of their receiving core and slotted in as Tight End #2 for much of the season. Hank provided a consistent third down conversion rate, being utilized generally for short slant routes. The Ducks, though, were not shy about using him as a vertical threat as he trained his speed during the season. Hank ended the season just shy of 600 yards on 51 receptions averaging over 11 yards per carry. Mardukas’ event had a 62 yard touchdown in the Week 13 game against the Minnesota Seawolves, providing a much needed 6 points contributing to the inevitable 31-28 victory keeping the Ducks in playoff contention. Unfortunately, it was not in the cards for the Ducks to make it into the playoffs as the rival London Royals who finished with the same record as the Ducks had two victories over Minnesota in the regular season giving them the tie breaker.

2057 Season

After the wrap of the his mildly successful performance in the Season 41 of the DSFL Hank began preparing for the draft. Having conversations with all of the professional teams, Hank was bright eyed with anticipation to see how far he’d be moving from his beloved Minnesota. On draft night Hank was selected by the New Orleans Second Line with the third pick overall, joining a prestigious group of first round Tight Ends.

Hank’s season started fairly poorly as he did not have the same pro level experience as the opposing teams. However, as the season progressed Hank became a better weapon for NOLA and had several explosive plays including a 62 yard long touchdown reception and a slightly smaller 54 yard touchdown reception. Despite statistically being the worst team going into the season the team struck a lot of fear into their opponents in several of their games, finishing with 6 one-score games. Hank was a key player in the back half of the season gaining 3 touchdowns in the last three games. Heading into offseason Hank commented “NOLA is in an interesting place right now, we have the winning culture in the Locker Room we just need the results on the field to catch up. Look out for us, we are only getting stronger”.

2058 Season

Hank came out of S43 talking a big game for season 44 and that is the exact opposite of what both he and NOLA were able to accomplish. Finishing the season with a total of 1 win, NOLA fell clearly under the Casino line of 2.5. A contributing factor to NOLA's performance was Hank's attention to making sure he was worse than his true rookie season. Every stat line imaginable Hank underperformed his rookie self. That is aside from somehow racking up a 70 yard touchdown mid season, the one redeeming stat of the year. Thankfully the season wasn’t all tears as NOLA was able to upend a very strong Arizona Outlaws team in Week 7 where Hank caught 5 passes, totaling 40 yards and the long reception of 15 yards securing a key 1st down. Again when Hank was asked about his expectations for season 44 he had this to say; “You know we came out here this season and gave it everything we had and it just wasn’t enough. We had some close calls here and there but this isn’t what our fans expect, its not what we expect and its not what we are going to allow going forward. We have a lot of work to do this offseason but we are keeping our expectations realistic. See y’all in the Ultimus”.

2059 Season

Following a weak 2nd season in the ISFL performing well below the standard Hank and the team had set for himself team management approached the struggling TE and offered a proposition. With the shifts in the team roster and prosperity of the S44 draft Hank was offered the job of Wide Receiver 1 if he was willing to swap. It didn’t take Hank long to make his decision. Not only was it a step up for Hank, a chance to reinvent himself, but it was a chance to do right by his team and help build them into the championship group he knew they were. The shift didn’t come easy though. The training was intense and took its toll on Hank throughout the year. Hank finished Season 44 with more than 1100 yards, but only three touchdowns. Though the position change is a work in progress for the now young wide receiver, the Second Line have high hopes for what he may achieve in his career.

2060 Season

Hank's fourth year in the ISFL was his first true breakout year. Sure he had nearly 1200 receiving yards in the previous season but those only translated into 3 total touchdowns for the year. In Season 45 of the ISFL Hank converted 1300 total receiving yards into 11 touchdowns and ended up ranked as the 4th overall wide receiver in the league. Hank's improvements correlated to NOLA's best season in the last five, totaling 5 wins and finishing 13th overall in the league, slightly beating out a struggling Yellowknife team. Hank attributed his success to hard work, dedication and the absolute dominate performance put on by the rest of his team throughout the season. Of course expert coordination two of the best GMs in the league made the ride a lot smoother. Hank capped off a great season with nomination to the Season 45 Pro-Bowl as the WR2 for the ASFC.

2061 Season

This year was meant to be a breakout for Hank's career he was nearly at his peak skill wise, and what was the result? Hank lead the entire league in total receptions and receiving yards with 115 and 1396 respectively. Mid season Hank was ambitious to break the coveted 1400 mark but fell just short come game 16. He had some miscues throughout the season that, had he kept his head in the game and not gotten distrcted would have resulted in him passing that threshold. However, with a renewed mindset and another year of experience in his belt Mardukas is confident that he can finish at the top of the league again and breakthrough that 1400 yard mark. Though Hank led the league in those two metrics he was quite far back in total Touchdowns, notching only 8 on the season. This was actually a step back from his previous seasons' total of 11. In an interview post Ultimus he credited this to his team mentality, it wasn't about being the star of the show but making sure his team made the best effort possible. He said he was happy to share the TDs with fellow receivers Eli Prince and Thomas Passarelli, because at the end of the day all that matters is the total on the scoreboard. Hank closed his interview with hopeful words for Season 47, saying how proud he was of how New Orleans has grown as a team and is ready to show the world that they are ready to compete at the highest level.
