Givussafare Rubbe (born December 5, 2011) is an American football offensive lineman for the New Orleans Second Line of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL). He played college football for Grand Valley State University (GVSU) before being drafted by the New Orleans Second Line in the 2033 ISFL Draft (S18). Prior to this, he had been drafted by the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers in the 2032 DSFL Draft (S17).

Early years

Givussafare Rubbe was born in Grand Rapids, MI in 2011. His parents were both extremely tall people who worked as shelf stockers at stores which specifically had extremely high shelves and owners who were apprehensive about purchasing equipment such as fork lifts or ladders. As a young boy it was his dream to follow in his parent's footsteps. Before starting to play football in 7th grade he would instead go to work with his parents after school and learn the techniques they employed to become the best stock boy in all of the greater Grand Rapids area. He was hired to work as a stock boy at the age of 12 and continued to perfect his craft until a fateful day when both his parents and him were replaced by ladder. His parents went on to work in a ladder factory on the west side of town. Givussafare however had to search for a new dream to pursue as his hatred of ladders prevented him from doing anything in the ladder industry and his stock boy was essentially dead.

College career

In college Givussafare Rubbe was offered a scholarship by only two schools: University of Hawaii at Manoa and Grand Valley State University. GVSU is only a half hour from his home, but it's a Division II school. He decided to try to make it to the NSFL but at the same time to focus on his education. He earned a degree in business and was voted offensive lineman of the year two seasons straight during his junior and senior years at college. During his senior year he spent some time at full back on plays where the team needed to get a short amount of yards to get a first down or a touchdown and actually scored a touchdown after his running back fumbled the ball and he recovered it. One positive about going to GVSU instead of U of H is that GVSU has an excellent football program. He went to three Division II finals and won one championship in his junior year before declaring for the DSFL draft.

DSFL career

2032 - S17

Givussafare Rubbe spent two seasons playing in the DSFL for the same franchise. In S17 he played for the Palm Beach Solar Bears before they were rebranded and relocated the following offseason to Myrtle Beach and given the new Buccaneer branding. In S17 Rubbe had 47 pancakes for the 4th most in the DSFL but gave up 3 sacks. As a rookie that's a very good stat line however his goal became to give up no sacks the following season. Pancakes look cool but his real job is to prevent sacks. Following his first DSFL season Givussafare Rubbe would be drafted with the 2nd pick in round 5 by the New Orleans Second line. He would be sent down to the Mytle Beach Buccaneers for their inaugural season to season a little longer before being called up to play in the NSFL.

2033 - S18

In S18 he ended the season with 45 pancakes and 1 sack allowed. It was an improvement for sure but that 1 sack is engrained into his memory. He was extremely close to have an Offensive Lineman of the Year worthy season but that sack took the wind out of the sails. After his good but not perfect seasons in the DSFL Givussafare Rubbe is ready to put his development to the test and be a top NSFL offensive lineman.

NSFL career

2034 - S19

During his first season with the New Orleans Second Line would accomplish his goal of not giving up a single sack in a season. Through 13 games he was perfect on the line while putting together a total of 49 pancakes. Under the mentorship of fellow offensive lineman Brave Ulysses, Rubbe would continue developing into a star offensive lineman. Rubbe's first NSFL game would be against none other than the storied Orange County Otters franchise. The team would fall 11 points short of victory but with 4 pancakes and 0 sacks allowed it was a personal victory and the start of long professional career. The statistical high point of Rubbe's first NSFL season would be against the Yellowknife Wraiths in week 5. Although the Second Line would fall to the wraiths by a score of 17 - 27 Rubbe would record a season high 6 pancakes during that game.

The New Orleans Second Line would make the playoffs in 2034 with a final regular season record of 8-5-0. In the ASFC Semifinals they would go up against the Austin Copperheads. Rubbe showed off his raw talent in that game by recording a total of 7 pancakes in the contest, however his rookie status showed off as well. With 3 penalties for a total of 25 yards lost the game could easily been lost by his eagerness to get a step on the opponent. Luckily the Second Line sent the Copperheads packing and advanced to the next round where they would face the Orange County Otters. Rubbe would regress to his mean with only three pancakes during the game. Orange County would triumph over the Second Line in the ASFC Finals ending the season for New Orleans. Rubbe's first season was a successful one that showed off his potential to be a star offensive lineman in the NSFL.

2035 - S20

Heading into his second season in the NSFL Givussafare Rubbe had a hunger that could only be quenched by pancakes and boy did he stack them up. Through 13 games he had a total of 63 pancakes and 0 sacks allowed for what could definitely be called an all around improvement on the previous season. In week 10 against the Chicago Butchers Givussafare Rubbe had his game of the season where took no penalties, earned 10 pancakes and allowed 0 sacks. New Orleans took home the victory in that game by a score of 43 - 21.

The New Orleans Second Line would head into the playoffs with a record of 7-6-0. This season in the playoffs Rubbe was more well rounded and had the experience of last season to help him prepare for the coming battle. Round one of the ASFC would pit the New Orleans Second Line against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs in the previous season: the Orange County Otters. Rubbe was a monster on the field in a game that saw him record a total of 10 pancakes without allowing a single sack or taking a single penalty. New Orleans would win the game by a score of 23 - 13 and move on to the ASFC Finals to face the Austin Copperheads. Rubbe brought his A game to the field in this one with 7 pancakes, 0 penalties and 0 sacked allowed. The Copperheads, however, would win the game by a score of 26 - 17 and send the Second Line home for their second ASFC Finals loss in a row.

Rubbe tied for 6th in pancakes during the 2035 NSFL season, and of those 8 players with as many more pancakes than Rubbe he would be the only one who did not allow any sacks on the season. Givussafare Rubbe would take home his first Offensive Lineman of the Year Award based on his statistical performance.

2036 - S21

Givussafare Rubbe's third season in the NSFL would be one for the ages. 2036 would see Rubbe beginning to enter his prime. By the end of the season he led the entire league in pancakes with a total of 73, the next highest player having 68, and not a single sack allowed on the season. Rubbe's best game of the season came in week 5 against Orange County. In a victory against the Otters by a score of 22 - 17 Rubbe recorded a total of 9 pancakes without any penalties or sacks allowed. Although Rubbe's peak performance had decreased by 1 pancake from the previous year his average performance improved dramatically as opposed to the previous season.

Going into the 2036 playoffs the New Orleans Second Line had a record of 9-4-0, the best record the team had since Rubbe had joined the franchise. Round 1 of the ASFC bracket put the Second Line against a familiar team, the Austin Copperheads. The reigning champion Austin Copperheads would be prove to be a difficult opponent, but in the end the Second Line took the game by a score of 23 - 17. Rubbe had 4 pancakes and 0 sacks allowed in the game. The ASFC Finals put the New Orleans Second Line against the Orange County Otters in a round that the Second Line had had trouble getting past previously. Embarrassed by his previous game's performance Rubbe would step up and find his game. He recorded 8 pancakes and let up 0 sacks in the game. The contest would be one of the most exciting ones of the Rubbe's career as it would go into overtime. The New Orleans defense were able to hold off Orange County's drive and send the ball in the other direction to send Givussafare Rubbe to his first Ultimus Bowl. Rubbe would record the best statistical game of his entire career. With 11 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed and 0 penalties he helped bring the New Orleans Second Line an Ultimus Bowl victory against the Yellowknife Wraiths by a score of 33 - 13.

With his league leading 73 pancakes and 0 sacks allowed Givussafare Rubbe would take home his second Offensive Lineman of the Year Award for his statistical performance along with a trip to his first Pro Bowl.
