Elessar Jones (born February 3, 2025) is an American football quarterback who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks.He played college football for Miami University (Ohio) (MU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Elessar Jones grew up in a small town in central Kentucky. When people met him, they always wondered about his strange name. His parents were both big fans of classic literature, and Elessar and his 3 siblings were all named after famous book characters. The name Elessar came from his father's favorite series, the Lord of the Rings, as the Elvish name for Aragorn. Like Aragorn, Elessar was a natural leader from a very young age. He was tall and handsome and was destined to be a professional quarterback. He started for three seasons at quarterback for his high school football team, and his leadership in the locker room earned him great respect among his peers. Unlike many of his friends, Jones only played one sport in high school. He was obsessed with football and preferred to spending each offseason training rather than playing a spring season sport. His drive for the game and his competitiveness were considered some of his best qualities.

College career

Elessar Jones did not play for a top football program in high school. As such, he did not receive a large number of college offers. He wanted to play for his hometown team, the Kentucky Wildcats, but they chose to recruit another local star, Boone McCoy, instead. So, Jones took the opportunity to play for a small school a couple hours from home: the Miami Redhawks. The Redhawks had been struggling as a football team since the great Ben Roethlisberger had graduated in 2003. Jones came in as a talented rookie QB and started immediately. He took the MAC conference by storm, leading the Redhawks to a 10-3 record. Meanwhile, at Kentucky, there were locker room concerns with McCoy, who was unhappy that he was not receiving enough playing time. With their starter graduating and their uncertainty with McCoy, Kentucky recruited Jones to return home to play for the Wildcats. Jones agreed, and beat out McCoy for the starting spot his sophomore season. However, halfway through the year, Jones got hurt, giving McCoy a chance to finish out the season. With two young QBs, the Wildcats struggled in the SEC, going 5-8 and missing a bowl game. The following season, Jones again won the starting spot, and had the best season of his collegiate career, leading UK to a 9-4 record, their best in five seasons. The head coach parlayed that success into a better football job that offseason, and for Jones and McCoy's senior year, a new coach was brought in who considered himself and offensive innovator. He wanted to use both McCoy and Jones every game, so both saw their stats suffer as a result.

Rookie Season After being drafted to the Tijuana Luchadores in the 2048 DSFL draft, Elessar Jones had a meeting with the team's coaching staff. They anticipated that they would have reigning DSFL MVP Live Laughlove returning at quarterback for the team, so Jones would have to sit on the bench for a season. However, given his size and athleticism, he convinced the coaches to allow him to play linebacker for a season rather than riding the bench. He excelled as a versatile linebacker, but was most effective as a pass rusher. He was one of only three players with double-digit sack totals, recording ten along with an interception, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and 6 tackles for loss. He played so well that he received a nomination for defensive rookie of the year. His week 13 performance against the rival Bondi Beach Buccaneers won him defensive player of the game honors and was listed as the thirteenth best defensive performance all season in the league newspaper. In that win over the division rivals, Jones notched two sacks, a forced fumble, and 7 tackles, including several key tackles for short yardage in the run game. Jones impressed people all over the league with his ability to play linebacker at such a high level despite playing quarterback for most of his life.

Sophomore Season With the departure of Tijuana's quarterback Live Laughlove to join the Colorado Yeti in the professional ranks, Elessar got his chance to be a starting quarterback. He was excellent in his debut season, winning Offensive Player of the Year. Many experts claim that he should have won Most Valuable Player as well, but he was runner-up to Christian Marciano, quarterback for the division rival Dallas Birddogs. Elessar tied for the most passing touchdowns in the DSFL with 29, and had the fewest interceptions in the league, only 9. He had the second best passer rating and second best completion percentage in the league. He also added value as a rusher, finishing tenth in the league in rushing with 560 yards, the best mark for a quarterback in season 34, and adding four touchdowns on the ground. He led Tijuana to a 10-4 record, the best in the league, before throwing three interceptions, a career high, in a playoff loss to Dallas. A local newspaper wrote that Jones had 3 of the top 6 offensive game performances that season, including the #1 offensive performance, a week one smackdown of Dallas which saw Elessar go 8/13 passing for 143 yards and a touchdown in addition to 190 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the ground.

Third DSFL season In his third season in Tijuana, the Luchadores earned the number one overall seed in the playoffs. They finished 11-3 after starting the season undefeated through eight weeks. Jones threw three interceptions in Tijuana's South Conference Championship game, and lost to the eventually Ultimini champions, the Norfolk Seawolves. Jones saw a large uptick in turnovers this season, and led the league with nineteen interceptions thrown.Jones scored 32 combined touchdowns including 6 on the ground, and had 616 rushing yards at a clip of 5.4 yards per carry. Jones had probably his worst game as a pro in the final regular season game against the Kansas City Coyotes. He was 26/49 for only 258 yards and a career high four interceptions, including an ugly pick six to end the game. After throwing six interceptions in his two career postseason starts, the media and fanbase started to question if Jones would ever be able to win the "big game."
