The ultimini was finally upon Tijuana and Howlett was waiting in the locker room before exiting. He had been on a similar stage in his rugby career so he wasn't anxious or nervous but he was heckin' hyped. He looked around the locker room and could feel a sense of dread in the air. In order to raise the morale of his teammates he pulled out his trumpet and played an absolute banger of a tune, El Jarabe Tapatio. The locker room moshed for a good 5 minutes before taking to the field. Tijuana had a rough start accumulating any kind of offense but nailed it in overtime with a glorious field goal from Jacob Small. Doug Howlett (born September 21, 2000) is an American football wide receiver for the Tijuana Luchadores of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Doug Howlet born in Auckland New Zealand grew up playing rugby and established himself as an elite talent during his time at Grammar college. After his time with Auckland Grammar he went on to have one of the most successful and notable careers in rugby, establishing himself as one of the all time best wingers to play the game. After Howletts succesful career for the New Zealand All Blacks, he went on to play for the irish team Munster. After finishing his career for munster he decided to go under the knife and have age-reconstruction surgery to returned to 18 years old and pursue his life long dream to play American Football in the NSFL. Howlett models his gameplay after prominent NFL receivers such as Desean Jackson. He thrives to have the agility and speed of Desean Jackson mixed with the awareness and hands of Deandre Hopkins. He also aspires and models his game after succesful NSFL receiver, H. Mongo.

College career

Howlett spent no time establishing himself as THE prominent Wide Receiver at college. Utilising the skills and abilities he worked on in his succesful rugby career, he established himself as a dominant force in the Oceanic football league. When it came time to be drafted, Howlett fell much further than he should've due to lack of recognition and the inability to speak english to certain scouts. During his time in college Howlett spent time watching tape, working on his footwork and burst speed and also spent time practicing yoga as well as other natural ways to keep his body ready for the big games.

In one of University of Canterbury's largest game against rivals University of Otago, Howlett put up school record numbers with 340 receiving yards, 30 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. This performance assisted in Canterbury's win over Otago. After his single season in college, Howlett believed it was time to set his eyes on the larger goal, the NSFL.

Professional career

Season 22

After being selected 60th in the DSFL draft by the Tijuana Luchadores, Howlett went on to have a strong rookie career behind the #1 receiver in the league, his teammate, F. Vequain. Howlett played as a strong second/third option behind F. Vequain and J. Kingston. In Howlett's one and only season in the DSFL thus far, he joined his team and made the DSFL playoffs after Tijuana had an incredible 10-4 season and holding the leagues highest winning percentage. Although Howlett didn't post incredible numbers, Tijuana beat the Norfolk Seawolves in the conference finals before moving on to face the London Royals in the ultimini.

The Tijuana lockerroom was pumping and pouring with Tequila and Cornchips. They even brought in a nacho mix machine. You know those snow machines? Like that but it pumps nacho mix.

Howlett now has his eyes set on building and working on himself for the upcoming NSFL draft. Howlett said in a recent interview with GQ "I noticed a lot of people overlooking the talent I can bring to a team and the now immediate impact I could provide. I don't want to name anyone but there's plenty of players out there predicting the wrong players at the wrong time in the draft. Tune into this draft and see for yourself.."
