Dexter Quintavious Banks II (born January 4, 2009) is an American football player who was drafted in the first round of the Season 17 NSFL Draft by the Orange County Otters. He is a 2x Ultimus Champion, having won the championship his first two years in the league (S18 and S19). Banks played Wide Receiver his first five years in the league before switching to Quarterback prior to Season 23.

Early years

A native of Savannah, GA, Banks was the second of five children raised by single-mother Remicent Charles. After years of begging his mother to sign him up for the local youth football league, Remy Charles finally gave in and signed her son up for the seventh grade football team. Local coaches quickly recognized the raw talent Banks possesed, and he received a scholarship to attend Benedictine Military High School in Savannah. Banks started his first varsity High School game in Ninth grade, and he compiled 264 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on 11 carries, 182 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns on 5 receptions, and 2 punt returns for touchdowns. The next day Banks received his first 8 collegiate scholarship offers. Over Banks' high school career he broke the GHSA records for receiving yards and punt returns for touchdowns with 55 and 23 respectively. In the final composite football recruiting rankings, Banks was a 5 star and top 20 player in the nation. As a highly coveted recruit, Banks did his due dilligence and took visits across the nation to top programs before he made his viral commitment via Twitter on January 3, 2024. The video opened to Banks standing in front of three hats: Oklahoma, Georgia, and Clemson. After the typical gracious pleasantries of any commitment, Banks picked up the Clemson hat before pausing, tossing it aside, and proclaiming "Just kidding I'm a *explative* Dawg". The video then cut to Banks doing gentle "snow angles" in a pile of Bulldog puppies.

College career

Banks' Freshman year, he was arrested for a minor charge prior to the season opener. The arrest caused Banks to be suspended for the first 4 games of the season. Once Banks regained eligibility he spent the next three games playing exclusively on special teams punt and kickoff coverage. It wasn't until the eighth game of the season against the University of Kentucky that Banks received snaps on Offense. In that game Banks caught two balls for 29 yards. Banks put up solid numbers the rest of the season, including a 6 reception 107 yard performance in a losing effort during the SEC title game against Alabama. UGA finished the year at 11-3 after an Outback Bowl victory over Nebraska. Banks' 23 receptions, 312 yards, and 2 touchdowns were enough to earn him second team Freshman All-SEC Honors. Banks used a no non-sense spring camp to develop into a starter for the team prior to his successful Sophomore campaign. Banks finished the season with 67 receptions, 904 yards, and 8 touchdowns which helped lead UGA to an SEC Championship and Cotton Bowl Semi-Final appearance. The following year Banks was made a team captain and garnered all sorts of pre-season All-American honors. Banks' Junior season lived up to the hype and helped to finally put UGA over the top and win a National Championship. The 72 receptions, 1152 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns allowed Banks to rack up the post season honors including: the Biletnikoff Award, first team All-SEC, first team All-American, and a seventh place finish in the Heisman voting.

DSFL Career

Season 16

Banks II finished his first full year in the DSFL with 74 receptions (T-3rd), 985 yards (2nd), and 6 receiving Touchdowns (2nd). Kansas City made the playoffs as the 2 seed in the NFC, but lost to Portland in the first round by a score of 13-23.

Season 17

For the second straight season, Banks II finished top 3 in all major receiving categories. His 12 Touchdowns in his final DSFL year pushed him to 18 for his career which is tied for 4th best mark all-time. After the completion of the season, Banks II would be voted the S17 Wide Receiver of the Year. Unfortunately, his statistical success did not translate to team successs, as Kansas City made a first round exit from the playoffs once again.

NSFL Career

Season 18

Banks II played his Rookie year in the NSFL as the third option on a talented Orange County team. However, Banks quickly established a connection with his Quarterback, Franklin Armstrong, leading to his first receiving Touchdown against the Philadelphia Liberty in week 2. Banks best outing of his rookie season came in week 4 against the Arizona Outlaws where he reeled in 6 catches for 79 yards and 1 Touchdown. Orange County went on to win all three of their playoff games by less than one score, including a 16-10 win over Yellowknife in Ultimus XIIX.

Season 19

In his second season, Banks II only improved his statistics slightly, but the team was dominant throughout the year. Orange County finished with a league best 114 point differential. Orange County skated back to the Ultimus and defeated Yellowknife for a second straight season. The Ultimus XIX Championship marked the teams third straight and eighth overall.

Season 20

Season 21

Season 21 would be Banks II final season in Orange County. It was also his best statistical receiving season across the board to that point. His 11 Touchdowns were good for third best in the league and were no doubt a big reason he was selected to the S21 Pro Bowl Roster. The receiving trio of Banks II, Mongo, and Blaze helped Franklin Armstrong to his third straight MVP season and the Otters to the best overall record of 10-3. His regular season was highlighted by consistent performances as he never broke 100 yards receiving. His top single game performance was no doubt Week 3 against the defending champion, Austin Cooperheads. Banks II reeled in 5 catches for 89 yards, but 3 of his receptions went for Touchdowns. In the Conference Championship game, Orange County faced off against the New Orleans Second Line. Banks II led the team in receptions (6) and yards (101), but it was not enough to ultimately win the game. The Second Line would win the game in Overtime after the Otters were unable to score after New Orleans kicked a field goal on the opening drive. New Orleans would go on to beat Yellow Knife in the Ultimus and claim the Season 21 title. Following the season an expansion draft was announced which would bring in two new teams, Sarasota and Honolulu. Banks II and Orange County discussed intently if they would use a protection on their S17 receiver. Ultimately, both sides decidedly to mutually part ways and allow Banks to find new home with an expansion team.

Season 22

Season 22 marked Dexter Banks II first year with the brand new expansion team, the Sarasota Sailfish. It was an up and down season for the entire team, and Banks II productivity suffered majorly while the team tried to find their offensive identity. In the first 3 weeks, Banks II only had 5 receptions for a combined 69 yards (nice) and no touchdowns. His production picked up to levels more in line with his career average from weeks 4 through 7 as he averaged 88 yards per game, but still had not managed to find the endzone yet. In week 8, Banks II along with the rest of the Sarasota team faced a very important swing game against the Orange County Otters. This was Banks II first time facing the team that drafted him in the first round of the Season 17 draft. Unfortunately for Banks II, it was not the homecoming that he had hoped for as he was completely shutdown by the fanta curtain. In the loss, he recorded no statistics for the game: no catches, no rushes, no kick returns. At this point in the season, Sarasota was 3-5 but had a decent chance to still make the final playoff spot in the NSFC. They decided to trade for Rose Jenkins in hopes that she could bolster the offense with better quarterback play. The move worked out for the Sailfish as they finished the season 6-7 and made the playoffs. It also helped Banks II immensely as he and Rose had an immediate connection. In the final 5 games with Rose AJenkins at QB, Banks combined for 29 receptions, 519 yards, and 2 scores. Unfortunately for the expansion team, they seemed too young and inexperienced in their wildcard game, as they fell to the eventual Ultimus Champs, Colorado, 36-14. After the season, Dexter Banks II was rewarded with his second consecutive and overall Pro Bowl appearance.
