Deshun Jones (born July 3, 2014) is an American football defensive tackle for the Undrafted of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL).

Early years

Jones attended Minkler High School in Minkler, California, where he played high school football for the Minks. Jones early high school career was met with adversity as stood 6 foot 6 inch at 160 pounds. He was known in high school as Scrawny Deshawny, until his Senior year he bulked up to 260 pounds on a regimen of uncrustables and daily squats.

Jones started his first 3 years of high school football as a cornerback due to his height, but was always stuck as a 2nd or 3rd string player due to his inability to keep up with quick wide receivers. Jones was able to earn the starting spot his senior year after starting his new regimen after his dissapointing Junior year performance. As he transitioned to his new Defensive Tackle position his senior year, his performance was average until he adjusted to his new role and dominated the last 5 games of the season averaging close to 3 sacks a game.

College career

Due to his late high school success, Jones had to try out as a walk on at Cal Poly SLO. Intrigued by his stature and strength, the coaches were eager to see what he could do. In his tryout, Jones knocked over every single center and interior linemen faced up against Jones during the tryout scrimmages. He immediately earned a starting spot as a true freshman. Jones dominated the offensive lines he faced from the beginning averaging 3.5 tackles per game and 0.9 sacks per game even though he was often double and even tripled teamed against.

Jones had a opportunity his Junior year for a run at the FCS championship, until his teammate Fee Dord lined up offsides in the semi-finals causing a game-winning interception to be called back.

Jones is confident in finding success in the NSFL like others before him who attended non-FBS schools such as Jerry Rice and Michael Strahan.
