David Frank (born July 6, 2001) is an American football linebacker who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks.He played college football for Ball State University (BSU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years
David was born in Angola, Indiana. He attended Fremont High School until he was a sophomore then transferred to Angola High School in his junior year. He was a standout high school football player and was named a first-team all-state selection as a senior. David and his older brother, Joel, were high school teammates at Angola High School, Indiana; in 2015, David's freshman year, the Hornets team went 16–0 and won the Class 1A state championship. As he progressed through high school, David gained experience in all three phases of football. He saw playing time as a running back, wide receiver, return specialist, and defensive back. He finished the season with twelve touchdown receptions, six touchdown returns, and two rushing touchdowns. He additionally received state-recognized honors in football, as well as basketball. Angola has since recognized Frank's accomplishments by retiring his high-school jersey number, and naming a holiday after him.
Frank wanted to attend Trine University, but the school did not offer him an athletic scholarship.
College career
David attended Ball State University, where he was a three-year starter at linebacker for the Cardinals football team. Frank led the Cardinals in tackles as a sophomore in 2017, compiling 86, 14 for loss, five sacks, and two forced fumbles. He posted 70 stops the following year (2015), 131⁄2 of those for loss, with five sacks and two interceptions to earn a first-team all-conference selection as a redshirt sophomore. After the 2016 season, Leonard was named the MAC defensive player of the year, making SC State the first school to win the award four years in a row. Frank finished the season with 124 tackles, 141⁄2 tackles for loss, 31⁄2 sacks, two interceptions, three pass break-ups, and four forced fumbles. He had an impressive game against ACC powerhouse Clemson, totaling 19 tackles. David saved his best for last, as he posted career highs in total tackles (113) and sacks (81⁄2) as a senior while picking off two more passes and forcing one fumble. His 73 solo tackles in 2017 put him in the Top 10 in the nation, and 41⁄2 of his sacks came in his final two games. He also won the MAC defensive player of the year award again after the 2017 season

Season 34 - Honolulu
Season 34 was one to forget for David and Honolulu. THe Hahalua started the season 0-5 and ended the season at 7-9, just a single game outside of the playoffs. Honolulu did show some positive direction as the end of the season came with the Hahalua finishing on a 4 game win streak. In addition to the poor team results, David found himself in a career low season in tackles and saw a significant drop off in sacks and forced fumbles. David did earn a career high in Tackles for losses, but this seemed to be the only bright spot in the players season 24 resume. The Honolulu defense was projected to be one of the league's most prominent defenses but game after game the defense was the weak point in this team's ability to succeed. With the defense finally stepping up at the end of the season the Honolulu Hahalua are optimistic for the season 35 challenges ahead.
