Colby Jack (born August 19, 1915) is an American football quarterback for the Minnesota Grey Ducks of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Oregon (ORE) before going undrafted in the 2015 ISFL Draft (S0).

Early years

Colby Jack was born alongside his twin brother Monterey "Monty" Jack in the town of Kyle, Oregon on March 10th, 1998. From the get go the two young men competed relentlessly! Colby's father, Cheddar Jack, would always say "my children don't need anyone else to compete, because they push themselves to be better than one another!" Over time the two boys grew and folks quickly started to realize that they were not your normal children. Both Colby and Monty starting playing football at the age of 8 years old and it was very hard to distinguish which of the two were more talented. Each of the boys had a cannon for an arm with the only difference being that Colby was the faster of the two. Sure Monty could run if absolutely necessary, but Colby was electric when it was time to run the football. Until the two boys reached high school age they took turns playing the QB position and both of them were very successful. When the time came for the two boys to play high school football their parents elected to send them to separate schools to give them both an opportunity to earn full rides to college. At this point, Colby played for Sheldon High, where he won 2 state championships during his tenure!

College career

"When it came time to commit to a university, Colby knew exactly where he wanted to go and because of his athletic prowess in high school he was awarded a full ride to the University of Oregon where he would start all 4 years. During his freshman campaign the Colby was not really able to use his dual threat ability due to the offense that was being run by the coaching staff, however he was still able to throw for 1936 yards while rushing for 560. He totaled 19 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing touchdowns in his freshman year. Although Jack was doing well in the system, the team was only able to go 2-8 on the season.

During his sophomore season, things turned around exponentially when the team went 6-2 with Jack under the helm. He did however miss a few games that season with an ankle injury. Oregon did reach a bowl game that season but unfortunately lost to Boise State. In Colby's sophomore season he accounted for 2800 yards of offense (1840 passing and 960 rushing) with 23 total touchdowns.

His junior season is when Colby really became recognized on the national scene, when he won the Heisman trophy after completing a stellar campaign. During that season, the Ducks went 9-4 and eventually beat Michigan State in a New Year's Eve bowl game. What won the Heisman trophy for Colby was his play on the field consisting of 3543 passing yards for 30 touchdowns and 1571 rushing for another 21 touchdowns. These number were simply eye popping and that put him front and center on the national stage.

Now in all honesty, Jack could have left Oregon after his junior season and been a very high pick in the DSFL, but he decided that his team was more important and therefore returned for his senior year. Replicating the same numbers was unlikely, but he surely came close. Jack finished his senior season with 3660 yards passing for 27 touchdowns and rushed for 1601 yards with 18 touchdowns. On their way to a 12-2 record the Duck's quarterback was once again a Heisman finalist, but he ultimately did not win the award that season.

DSFL career

In his first full season, Colby Jack was drafted number 2 overall and became the first ever Quarterback for the newly formed London Royals. His brother, Monty Jack, was taken number one overall by the Dallas Birddogs in a true win/win situation for both teams and players. Neither team could lose in this situation as both of the brothers are surefire prospects for their future NSFL teams that await them. In their first ever meeting in the DSFL, Colby Jack was victorious beating Monty and the Birddogs by a score of 34-7. In that outing Colby went 14/22 for 123 Yards and 1 passing touchdown. However, the next time that the two met in Dallas during week 8, Colby was on the losing end falling to the Birddogs 27-10. All in all the brothers both had difficult first seasons in the DSFL as they were getting adjusted to new teammates and the faster pace of the game. The London Royals finished their inaugural season with 5 wins and 9 losses unfortunately but they will be returning a lot of stars most likely in their second season, Colby included.

While Colby Jack will be returning to the London Royals for at least a second season to refine his skills, he does know where he will be playing his NSFL football already. He was drafted in the second round of the NSFL draft at pick 22 overall and will be the man in charge of replacing the great Cooter Bigsby for the Yellowknife Wraiths in a few seasons. Somewhat of Jimmy G situation in New England, except this time around the Wraiths won't be trading him away for a 4th round pick! "
