Cob Corning (born August 31, 1984) is an American football cornerback who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Cornell University and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

One of the great things about living in Ohio are The Cornfields. Not only do they produce sustenance to the human settlements, they have also been known to occasionally produce... other things.

Having been born after the Great Corn War (1951-1982), Cob is one of the few living Corn Men to have been allowed to integrate with human society. It is a well known fact that Corn Men excel at football (citation needed). Where human football players get their strength from being corn-fed, Cob Corning is himself made entirely from corn. This direct and constant supply of carbohydrates has eliminated his need to carbo-load before training or games, and is largely responsible for his freakish stamina, speed, and strength. It is said that Cob exited the cornfield of his birth sprinting at a speed of 30 ft/s, giving him a 100 yard dash time of 10 seconds. Upon exiting The Cornfields, Cob is believed to have made a bee line to the nearest football field where he promptly deflected a pass.

Cob then enrolled at Cornell University (believing it to be run by Corn Men) and would become their star cornerback, although the reason he decided to be a cornerback is still unknown.

College career

Cob would prove to be the most successful cornerback of Cornell University history. With over 200 solo tackles, 350 assisted tackles, 197 deflections, 100 sacks, and 1 interception, it is believed that Cob Corning may be the most successful college football player of all time. This is, however, not an uncontested fact.

Some skeptics assert that Cob's accomplishments are impossible, even given his Corn Man heritage. "I'm supposed to believe that a walking lump of corn achieved all that in 4 years? There aren't even that many downs in a typical college player's career" posited one such skeptic. "And I'm pretty sure Cornell doesn't even have a football team" he added.

Despite the controversy, Cob would continue to set his sights on the horizon, with the ultimate goal of becoming the greatest cornerback in ISFL history. With his sights set on the Season 34 draft, Cob eagerly waits to make his DSFL debut. When interviewed about the upcoming draft and asked to elaborate on the possibility of furthering his dream, Cob replied: "It's corn time."
