Caven "Caveman" McRae (born June 24, 2019) was an American football Strong safety for the London Royals of the DSFL and the Baltimore Hawks of the ISFL. He played college football for Louisiana State University (LSU).

Early years

Caven "Caveman" McRae was born June 24th, 2019 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to parents Bichael and Bumpkis McRae. After moving to nearby Portage la Prairie in his freshman year of high school, he decided to try his hand at football.

In his first two seasons playing he played mostly at right tackle on the Offensive lineman, but between his sophomore and junior year to challenge himself, he lost weight and began training to become a Wide receiver. Given the increase in his speed, the work put into ball-handling, and his already impressive height; he switched position and played wide receiver for his final two seasons at PCI to the benefit of the team.

In his two years as a receiver he managed 85 receptions on 108 targets (78.7% catch rate) leading to 1,658 total yards and 23 touchdowns over 17 total games. In his final year, his offensive numbers led to him receiving the “Mr. Manitoba” award for the best offensive player in the province as well as the award for the top offensive player in Canada.

College career

Because of his lights out performances in high school and his ability to succeed at multiple positions he received many Division I FBS offers despite going to a Canadian high school and playing with Canadian football rules.

He verbally committed to Ohio State and the Buckeyes a month before national signing day but on the day changed his mind to attend Louisiana State University (LSU) and play for the Tigers due to a promise of becoming a starter much sooner than what the Buckeyes had in mind.

As a true freshman in 2036, he switched positions one final time to Tight end (TE) due to an injury to the starter in game 2 of the season as well as his success as both an offensive lineman and a receiver in high school. He lit up the SEC with his hands and feet and in his own words "grabbed the reigns and never looked back" and by the end of his senior year, he amassed 85 receptions for 1,384 yards and 25 touchdowns in 47 games.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering.
