Calvin Golladay (born May 17, 2014) is an American football offensive lineman for the Undrafted of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL).

Early years

Calvin Golladay was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to two loving parents. As a child and teen, he loved the outdoors, football, and wrestling. His family eventually moved to Chanhassen, Minnesota, where he excelled in both football and wrestling. He was an all-state wrestler, and was rated the 24th best offensive tackle in the nation, playing three different positions for his high school football team. He was an all-state nose tackle on defense and had 1,000 yards rushing as a fullback in his sophomore season, but he found his true fit on the offensive line. His versatility would serve him well in the future when moving between tackle and guard, but he was a three-year starter at left tackle for Chanhassen for his Freshman, Junior, and Senior seasons. He received many scholarship offers, eventually choosing WIsconsin, a school known for its offensive line and power rushing attack. The proximity to home, his fit in their offense, and his lifelong admiration of the Wisconsin offensive linemen played a major role in his decision to commit.

College career

As a college freshman, Golladay rarely saw the field and took a redshirt year to learn behind Ryan Ramczyk, Beau Benzchawel, and Michael Deiter at tackle and guard. As a redshirt freshman he surprised many by winning the starting right guard spot and having an excellent year, giving up only one sack and starting every game. He was named to the USAToday All-America Freshman team. As a redshirt sophomore he moved to right tackle, and dominated once again, giving up only two sacks, starting every game, and being named 2nd team All-Conference. He considered going pro, but after receiving a late-round grade from the draft advisory committee he decided to return for another season at Wisconsin. Golladay started his redshirt junior season at right tackle before injuries on the IOL and the teams' deepth led to a move back to right guard, where he stonewalled opposing defensive tackles all year en route to winning the Outland Trophy and being named a 1st Team All American and 1st Team All BIG10 guard. He didn't allow a single sack, and his efforts in the run game led to a top-five rushing offense for the Badgers. Though very conflicted about his decision, Golladay decided that after graduating he would forego his final year of eligibility and enter the DSFL draft.

In the S22 DSFL Draft, Calvin Golladay was selected in the 8th round with the 60th overall pick by the Tijuana Luchadores, the fourth offensive lineman to be taken. Him and fellow rookie Sylvester Berlin paved the way for running backs Ed Barker, Ronaldinho Gilbert, and Julio Tirtawidjaja as bookends for a Luchadores team that led the league in rushing efficiency, with the team averaging an incredible five yards per carry. Golladay took some time adjusting to playing left tackle (having been a college guard and right tackle), allowing three sacks in the first half of the season, but soon hit his groove en route to the 4th highest pancake total in his draft class with only one sack allowed in the second half of the season. His best performance came in week 12 as he notched a seven pancake performance, giving up zero sacks and being penalty free to go with the team's 150 rushing yards. Golladay was nominated for OLotY, and received a Pro Bowl vote despite being edged out in both. After the regular season, Golladay and linebacker Ugarth the Dissector were nominated team captains by their fellow Luchadores. Right now he's looking ahead to the NSFL draft, where sources say 11 of the 12 teams have held interviews with him. He was projected to go anywhere from the 3rd round to the 5th, and as one of the top four offensive linemen selected. In the NSFL draft Golladay was selected in the 4th round with the 40th pick by the Arizona Outlaws. He was the 3rd lineman off the board, behind Byron Dolls and Bruce Buckley, who was also picked by the Outlaws with the 39th pick. Two of his Luchadore teammates will join him, receivers Passmann and Vequain. Golladay was called up by the Outlaws and looks to open his first NSFL season as a starting tackle.
