Asher "The Monster" Montain (born October 11, 2015) is an American football defensive end who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for University of Alabama (Alabama) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Asher Montain was born in Long Beach, California on November 11, 2015. Born into the upper middle class, Asher and his older brother, Tyler, were raised by their father, Elliot Montain, a doctor in the sports medicine-field, and their mother, Margot Montain, Chief Financial Officer for a venture capital firm. With no other immediate family to speak of, the Montain family was very close, and the brothers were nearly inseparable. Despite the family's sophisticated lifestyle, Asher and Tyler both were encouraged to start playing sports. Their parents strongly believed in the importance of work ethic, teamwork, and ambition, and they believed that sports nurtured those values perfectly. Given that both boys were physically large, they naturally gravitated to football. So, they joined the well-regarded Los Alamitos High School football team. Tyler played defensive tackle, and Asher played defensive end. So, not only did they train together, they literally played next to each other. They were What the Montain brothers lacked in family numbers, they made up for in friends. Asher and Tyler didn't have an entourage, but they never seemed to have trouble getting along with everyone. Both earned good grades, though they were never perfect students, and both excelled in athletics.

College career

Suspecting that his talents could make a professional career possible given the right team and coaching, Asher's college selection process was rigorous. At the end, although Asher was scouted by schools across the country from multiple conferences, Asher couldn't deny Alabama's history of producing high-caliber defensive ends -- so, he joined the Crimson Tide. It placed the family in a unique situation to have both children playing Division I football in the same conference and playing each other once every year. Asher maintains to this day that Tyler's college selection wasn't a consideration in his selection, just a "fortunate coincidence." The downside to his selection was that he did not win a starting position in training camp due to the depth of talent. However, in the second game of the season, opportunity knocked when injuries earned him significant playing time. His performance in the game earned him a starting position for the rest of his college career. While his team was never able to overcome the LSU powerhouse during his brother's time on the opposing sideline, he was able to finally earn a win against them his senior year. Despite the losses, he did successfully become the stat leader in several categories, his favorite being 66 tackles for loss. Despite his success and continued attention from professional scouts, Asher refused to declare for the draft early, "I came here to play football, but I also came here for an education. So, I am going to graduate before I move on the next phase of my life. Also, I made a commitment to the coaches and players of Alabama, and I intend to honor that commitment. Roll Tide!" Asher graduated in 2037 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
