Kenny "The Cleaner" Omega (born October 16, 1998) was an American football linebacker for the Las Vegas Legion. He played college football for University of Southern California (USC).

Early years

Kenny Omega was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on October 16, 1998. As of 2016, Omega's mother works in family services while his father works for the Canadian government as a transport officer. Omega's affinity toward professional football began during childhood when he watched NSFL football every week which easily became his favorite program. Growing up, Omega played running back as well as linebacker and safety. He also worked at branches of retailers IGA and Costco. Omega abstains from alcohol, tobacco, and drug consumption. Omega is fluent in Japanese and told NSFL.com in October 2017 that he ""loved Japanese culture before even realizing it was, in fact, Japanese culture"" and that his favorite video games and cartoons were Japanese. He has since obtained a Japanese citizenship. A self-professed avid gamer, Omega previously hosted a YouTube series called Cleaner's Corner, which documented himself playing some of his favorite video games. He also attends video game conventions during his spare time.

College career

Kenny Omega was accepted to the University of Southern California as a 4-star recruit at LB/S coming out of high school. Omega attended USC and played for the Trojans from 2015 to 2019. During his first season, he played only on the scout team and turned down several playing opportunities during garbage time during the fourth quarters of games to preserve his redshirt status and remaining seasons of NCAA eligibility. At the beginning of the 2019 season, his defensive coordinator decided to try using Omega in a hybrid ""elephant"" position, where Omega would stand in the position of defensive end, but use the speed and tactics of a linebacker. The experiment was successful, as Omega recorded 6.5 sacks while playing alongside his other NFL-bound teammates. Although more recognized for his football career, Omega earned the nickname ""The Cleaner"" during his prolific wrestling career throughout high school and college. Although he's hung up his boots in exchange for cleats, his moniker still reigns true as he wipes the floor with the competition.
