Early Years
Jacob was raised in a typical American household, his mother a kindergarten teacher and his father a construction worker. Jacob was always on the bigger side. In elementary he often got teased for his weight and you could even say he was bullied for it. He never was interested of football when he was younger. But the coach of his age groups team saw him one day and asked if he wanted to play. Naturally with his size Jacob was put at the O-line. But even in high school with perhaps being the best player in his team he was looked down on for his size. Jacob started to get tired of the teasing so he tried to lose weight. The summer of his junior year he lost 35 pounds and his coach noticed, but he wasn't exactly happy. And neither was Boston College who he already had committed to. His performance after the weight loss deteriorated immensely. His coach made him gain the weight back, and later asked Rowan why tried to lose the weight. Jacob later explained that he was tired of the bullying by his teammates. The coach was furious, he had a team meeting where he said " If hear any of you talk about Jacob's weight then there is hell to pay" after that day Jacob didn't experience any bullying in high school and just keep improving his game.
College Summary
Jacob was a starting RG at Boston College in his sophomore and junior year but didn't find much success. As he allowed the most sacks in the team both of those seasons. Many speculated why Rowan fell off and even when they asked the man himself they couldn't find the answers. He later moved to the bench at the start of his senior season. But in week 4 the starting RG got injured and Jacob got a new opportunity. And he took that opportunity by finishing in the top 10 for least sacks allowed in the league for the remaining games of the season.
