Gary Goodman (born May 5, 2017) is an American football linebacker who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks.He played college football for Wisconsin (UW) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years
Gary Goodman was born to Larry and Mary Goodman in Poplar, WI. His father Larry played college football at UW - Whitewater and coaches Pony League football in the Poplar area. Gary has quoted his father as being a tough love kind of coach. Goodman was quick to grow and his size and natural speed made him a force to be reckoned with when learning the game.
Gary was a standout linebacker in high school, leading his team in tackles each season. The team was able to make the state playoffs in his Junior and Senior year but failed to capture a state title. Gary has 3 older brothers, his oldest brother Larry Jr. was a walk on at Wisconsin and started at LB his Junior and Senior year. Goodman was ranked as a 3 Star LB Recruit coming out of high school. Gary had numerous scholarship offers but ultimately decided to follow in his brothers footsteps and declared for Wisconsin's 2017 class. "
College career
2035 Season: During his Freshman year Goodman was mainly a backup for the majority of the season. He was able to start 2 games at the end of the season due to an injury to Senior LB Percy Gregory. Goodman finished the season with 2 sacks.
2036 Season: Goodman was deemed the starting enterering his Sophomore year. He quickly became a leader on the field. He played the entire season where the Badgers finished with an 8-5 record and defeated the Miami in the Pinstripe Bowl. Goodman recorded 4 sacks and 2 interceptions during the campaign.
2037 Season: This was Goodman's breakout year. The Wisconsin defense was ranked of the best in the country not allowing any points in 4 games on their way to a 10-4 record with a Rose Bowl loss. Goodman finished the season with 7 sacks and 3 interceptions and was a finalist for the Butkus Award but finished second in the voting. Goodman declared for the DSFL draft at the end of his Junior Season. "

Goodman was assigned to the Amarillo Tumbleweeds during the S24 Prospect Bowl. Goodman broke out early in his first two games of the season where he recorded 16 tackles, 2 sacks and an interception, as the Tumbleweeds started off the season 2-0. He was inexplicably absent from the field during Amarillo's final 3 games where the team lost all 3 games to finish the season 2-3 and eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
Goodman was rated as one of the top Linebacking prospects in the S24 DSFL Draft. He was the 5th LB taken at 31st overall by the Kansas City Coyotes.
