Early years
Roque Santa Cruz was born in Asunción, Paraguay, in August 16th, 2029. Despite advancements in technology, nothing really changed in South America after the havoc caused by the COVID Pandemic between 2020 and 2023. The poor became poorer, and the filthy rich became filthier and richer. Roque's family was on the mass. The poor, dirty mass. That is what motivated Santa Cruz. Getting out of poverty. He was playing soccer. The most popular sport in South America. He did not have shoes however. His feet were always bleeding from playing barefoot on the dirt. But it did not phase him. He was looking for a way out. He was always kicking a ball. His pops? Three jobs to barely make ends meet, sometimes four or even five. There would be days he would never even show up home. Momma was busy with Roque's younger siblings. He was practically alone. He had his family's support, but he had to do everything himself.
College career
Roque did not even play football in college. He was an avid soccer player. He could just throw the ball deep. He was chosen by some ISFL scouts who were scouring Latin America, looking for talented players. He tried every position. Kicker, Punter, corner, lineback, d-line, wide out, as a running back. He did not like any of it. He only loved throwing the ball. And carrying it. As a soccer player, he was good doing it all. Shooting, passing, dribbling. The quarterback position was eerily familiar and easy. All he had to do was look downfield and read the play. It was like playing soccer for him. And so it began. He got the nod to join an All-South American team, sponsored by ISFL. The team toured the States. Roque got to face some collegiate legends. He would go toe-to-toe. He has more than proven that he belongs among the elite. And that is why he declared for the draft.

2050 Season
Santa Cruz was drafted early in the fifth round, 42nd overall, and was given the starting job eight out of the gate. The rookie season was as expected. Dallas is still on the upswing. The Birddogs finished with a 3-11 record, but Santa Cruz was a beast under center. Despite chucking INTs as frequently as he chucked touchdowns, throwing a career high six interceptions in a loss against the Pythons in week 12, he showed promise and talent, as well as being a dual threat. Take week 11 for example. He threw four touchdowns, going 31/46 on passing. He DID throw an interception, but he torched the Ducks. And then week 9, against Bondi Beach. One touchdown through the air, and two on the ground. He showed versatility, but still being immature for the level, as he was an interception machine, averaging more than one per game. One thing that shined was his ability to spread the ball around on his targets, and there is enough trust for him to be the QB of the future for the Birddogs.
2051 Season
QB for the future? Well, what a joke did that turn out to be. After freefalling to pick 62 in the ISFL draft, ending up in a situation he would never wish to his worst enemy, in a team with a young quarterback, the place of which he would never get, as they were beloved in the city, resulting to RSC having to age out in the DSFL, while being on the trading block, hoping a team will trade for him, Dallas opted to draft another quarterback, probably because RSC was a pick chucking machine. The battle was fierce, but Santa Cruz proved to be the better quarterback from the get go. Yet, Dallas opted to use both. The team finished with the same record as the season prior, three wins and eleven losses. RSC did improve, ending the season with 11 tuddies and 5 interceptions, but that is kind of padded, as he played half the snaps, and only started three games this season, even though he appeared in all 14 games of the season.
