Early years
Rean Schwarzer was born in Baltimore Maryland, son to Teo Schwarzer and Lucia Schwarzer and has a sister named Elise. Elise was more academically gifted while Rean seemed to get the athletic genes. While Rean In high school he played both running back and cornerback at Calvert Hall as well as being a kick and punt returner throughout the time he was there, and was a starter as a corner from his sophmore year due to injuries, and kept the position since then due to his success that year. As a running back he was mostly a change of pace back in a very pass centric offense so not much in the term of oppurtunities as a running back until his senior year. In his senior year they swapped to a much heavier run offense and he broke out with 1400 rush yards and 15 touchdowns while carrying them to a state championship.
College career
As a freshman Rean was a walk on as a cornerback at Maryland and didn't play that year outside of returning a handful of punts on special teams. As a sophmore Rean had a season ending ACL tear after just playing sparingly for 2 games logging 6 tackles 2 pass defenses and 1 interception as a corner.. As a junior he transitioned to being a running back again due a inspur of talent at the cornerback position which pushed him out of it. He did excellent as a junior becoming the full time starter in the third game of the season running for 1042 yards and 10 touchdowns with another 3 more touchdowns from punt returns that year but Maryland went only 3-6. As a senior Rean had a good season as the full time starter getting 1207 yards with another 12 touchdowns leading the team to a 7-2 record and he dominated in his final game getting 200 yards with 3 touchdowns in his final college game.
