Early years
"Born into a single parent household and modest circumstances, Dru Freduci began his journey in a small town, in which chasing your dream was nothing more than a fairytale. Though from birthday, his mother Magdelena intended to raise his son as a special blend of innate talent and unbreakable morale fortitude.
From an early age Dru not only possessed the talent, but also the god given physical traits necessary to become what was soon deemed to be a prodigy of the sport. As young as eleven, scouts began to swarm local games due to the sheer size of the ""Gridiron Colosseus"" standing at 6 feet, 3 inches before even hitting his teenage years.
Dru enrolled as Artesia High School after hearing about the hiring of former highschool star Jason Brown being brought on to the coaching staff. Freduci had long looked up to Brown as a rolemodel due to the similarities of their upbringings where nothing was handed to them, and everything was earned.
His highschool years essentially boiled down to one long highlight reel, whether it be a bone-rattling pancake while blocking alongside the rest of the offensive line, or a catch that would leave you rubbing your eyes trying to decide whether or not you had been seeing things. His speed is what set him furthest apart from the pack however, as despite his now enormous 6'6 frame, he was also easily beating defenders one on one due to his sheer speed and agility.
Dru Freduci eventually committed to Oregon State during his 10th grade season, but once it was announced that coach Jason Brown was heading back to Independence Community College, Dru knew there was no other place worthy of his commitment.

College career
"After being hailed as the next coming of Paul DiMirio, Dru Freduci stumbled and never quite caught himself once arrived in the small town of Independence. The ISFL draft, which at points felt like a guarantee were quickly becoming quieter and quieter hopes and dreams.During his first game he found himself catching only 2 of his 9 targets, both of which ended up being fumbled for big losses. Coach Brown who was known for his explatives did not shy away from making an example of the once famed Golden Boy of football.
Despite putting in the work, the results never did end up arriving for Dru, as many pundits believe that he ended up eating himself alive mentally, which he never recovered from. Articles were dropping in not just the local newspapers, but across America ""A Star Fizzled Out: The Dru Freduci story"" was being sold as a main story of Sports Illustrated, ESPN and The Athletic.
As the season began to look lost, and the losses began piling up Dru's name suddenly became synonomous with failure amongst the local fans in Independence and the once promising tight end found himself contemplating hanging his cleats up for good, until he saw an ad on TV for local tryouts for the Dallas Birddogs, and the rest is history."
