At the age of 5 they moved to central Utah where he attended North Sanpete High School. His first love was actually basketball. But standing at only 5'10"" had its downside, as he struggles vs larger opponents. He was the schools starting point guard his sophomore and junior years of Varsity. Averaging 17 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds a game before focusing on football for his senior year. He excelled at football where he starred as a RB, DE, SS and MLB.
