Bachira entered the S49 DSFL Draft hoping to make a name for himself in this new league. In a pre-draft interview, he stated he knew a large hill stood in front of him. "I think I have what it takes to become a star in this league, but looking around at the other prospects I've met, I've got work to do for sure" said Bachira. "Standing out wasn't as easy as I hoped at Blue Lock, and it certainly won't be here either." Bachira entered the draft at safety, a position that proved to have many talented individuals. Akane Saruta, also from Japan, was a top prospect as well, and two other safety prospects, Linz O'Fare and Victoire Absolue, were projected to be first round picks in many mock drafts, as opposed to Bachira, who was projected as a mid-second round prospect.

Unbeknownst to Bachira, he had garnered a lot of attention from many of the teams around the DSFL during their scouting sessions, and all his hard work to stand out would be illuminated quickly. After Akane Saruta was taken first overall by the Dallas Birddogs, it was the Portland Pythons who quickly called Bachira's name at second overall, a complete surprise for him. "I had hoped that I would be liked enough to be taken in the later first round, as that's the pedigree I wanted. But to think, second overall? It's more than I could have dreamed of" reflected Bachira. He joined a Portland secondary under the tutelage of veteran cornerback Edith Nickelback, hoping to make a statement alongside fellow safety prospect Blitz McTackleton, who Portland picked up later in the draft.

In S49, the Pythons' season began slow, losing 40-13 at Minnesota despite 8 tackles and a pick from Bachira. This slow start would end up at 1-4 through five weeks, a difficult hill to climb in case they wanted to make the playoffs, but one that was possible. It was at this point management shifted Bachira to the cornerback position, playing opposite Nickelback and having McTackleton retreat to the safety position. It was here Bachira really shined, amassing three forced fumbles and three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown in the process. This resurgence helped lead Portland to the playoffs, where Bachira once again leveled up. With two interceptions for Bachira against London, he and the Pythons would easily win 23-3 to advance to the Ultimini in Bachira's first season. Three passes defended and a forced fumble from Bachira helped the Portland defense put away Norfolk, 42-20 to win Bachira's first championship in his first season. "Unreal," said Bachira. "My journey has just begun and even with a championship under my belt, I think there's so much more room to grow." Bachira was taken in the first round with the thirteenth pick by the Orange County otters along with other strong defensive backs like Absolue and William Strong.

And grow he did, as in S50, Bachira performed at a level far and above what he had his rookie campaign. With Edith Nickelback out of eligibility and moving up to the ISFL, Bachira had to be the strong point of the team, as McTackleton would also go ineligible and his only help was rookie cornerback Monty Ford. Bachira led Portland's defense to the playoffs once again, leading the entire league in interceptions (7) and set a record for cornerbacks with 38 passes defended. Bachira would again make his mark with an interception late in their conference championship against Minnesota to lead Portland back to the Ultimini in back-to-back seasons, but the Pythons would fall short of a second ring. "It hurts for sure, but we've come a long way as a team and I've come a long way as a player." Bachira is a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year and MVP for the DSFL in S50, and he will join the Otters for S51.

Meguru Bachira (born August 8, 2041) is an American football safety who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Blue Lock American Football Academy and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Meguru Bachira was born on August 8, 2041, in Chiba in Kyoto Prefecture. Growing up, he had always seemed distant from other children, as he was very focused on becoming the best he could be at soccer. During his childhood, he was actively bullied because of his eccentric personality and exceptional skill in football, which made him terrified of being alone. This led to him creating an imaginary friend, which he called his "monster" to help him practice and improve. This 'monster' would help Bachira become a top tier striker in Japan, eventually leading to an egoist style of dribbling football. This egoism would lead to rifts between him and his teammates at Namikaze high, as Bachira would look to score himself rather than pass to teammates. He would lament having teammates who didn't seem to share the same passion he had for football, and hoped to one day find a group of athletes who shared his passion.

College career

For Bachira, this egotistic style of football would be the end of one era, and an introduction to the next. His style would lead to him recieving an invitation to Blue Lock, an academy specifically designed to create a world-class striker on the level of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Noel Noa. Bachira would evolve quite a few times at Blue Lock, eventually getting to take on the World Five, a team of five of the best strikers in the World, and moved on to the third stage of selection in Blue Lock. Unfortunately, Bachira was growing tired of football. He had gotten past his trauma of being left alone, and put the 'monster' behind him. However, his innovation that the monster brought him had slowed down. This led to Bachira becoming disillusioned with football as a sport, and so he looked to a similar, yet different sport in order to reignite his spark for competition: American Football. After informing Blue Lock he wished to leave the program, he was offered to join the new branch of the program, one focused on American Football. Japan's athletics leaders wanted someone with Bachira's skill to continue to compete, and so offering this avenue would keep Bachira in the folds of Blue Lock should he want to return if Blue Lock went through another round of selections. Bachira enrolled at Blue Lock American Football Academy, and would quickly find his innovation and spark for competition in the back of the defense as a safety. Taking inspiration from Isagi Yoichi's ability to see the field at a high level, Bachira quickly learned how to play from the back and make sure that his defense was always top of the Neo American Football League which emerged at Blue Lock. After graduating from the Academy as the top safety, he looked outside of Japan to find his next competition. Due to the lack of a proper and high-level American football league in Japan, Bachira set his sights on the ISFL, inspired by the recently relocated Osaka Kaiju. He will enter into the DSFL Draft this upcoming season and hope to ascend as quickly as he did at Blue Lock.
