During the S40 offseason, Plant Based was the talk of the league as an unexpected trade occured, with Portland sending Plant Based to the Bondi Beach Buccaneers in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick in the S41 draft, and a 3rd round pick swap in the S40 draft. This move allowed the Buccaneers to replace Dick Grayson and shore up their passing offense with Smokin' Jay at the helm, with the goal of turning around the fortunes of a team which had a record of 2-25-1 over the two seasons prior. Bringing in the reigning Offensive Player of the Year was a big contributing factor that allowed Bondi Beach to have the number 1 scoring offense, and gave them the ability to focus more on defensive players in the draft, which also led to the number 1 defense as well. Though ultimately Based would see a lower target share compared to his time in Portland, being alongside Kairo Knight and Oliver Tolliver allowed him to get open more, significantly increasing his yards per catch. The Buccaneers went on to win the Ultimini after an outstanding season, and although Based was again nominated for Offensive Player of the Year, he would not win the award again. Early years
Plant Based was born in Fitzroy, Victoria (Australia). During his early years he was raised within a commune style of environment, though Plant Based obviously has biological parents, he considers the whole community to be his parents. Because of this parenting style, Plant was exposed to a wide variety of cultures, including sports cultures. Plant grew up like most Australians, playing AFL and rugby, though unlike a lot of Australians was a sub-par talent with his kicking leg. The biggest talent that Plant displayed was his blazing speed and agility, which led to him being a standout full-back while playing rugby and brought international attention to him after a viral video in which he outruns almost every player on the opposing team to score a try. Thanks to this attention, he was reached out to by scouts from multiple sports - while most had him pegged as being destined for a career in track and field as a short distance sprinter, Plant chased the money and took up a late scholarship in his junior year to play American Football in the US.
College career
Plant headed over to the US and took up residence in Eugene as he accepted his scholarship to the University of Oregon and became a Duck. He was overwhelmed at first by the huge amounts of attention given to him, though his viral video was big back home - Plant didn't realise that almost everyone on campus had seen it and would recognise him on sight. At this stage in his life, Plant had only played casual pick up games of American Football and really didn't understand the game all that well - leading to some critical mistakes and penalties. Due to this lack of knowledge, he was mostly given kick and punt returning duties, as this is what he was really brought in to shine on. Once Plant had got the hang of following his blockers instead of looking for open field, his talent became truly recognisable. Several important special teams touchdowns led to a few special teamer of the week/month accolades and half way through his senior season Plant declared for the DSFL.

Professional career
Plant Based entered the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL) via waivers in the leadup to the week 8 matchups, where he was claimed by the Portland Pythons. Plant played seven games in the S38 season, primarily featuring as a third receiver, unlike his college career where he was a returner first and foremost. Through the remainder of the season, the Pythons did all they could but were unable to secure a playoff position. After the Ultimini, Plant was an entrant in the S39 ISFL draft class. Though many analysts predicted that after a short DSFL season featuring not much in the way of statistics, and no playoff appearances Plant would slide down the board, they were proved wrong on the day with Plant Based being the fourth pick in the second round (18th Overall) by the Chicago Butchers. While the Butchers have invested in Plant, they expect has raw skill to remain with the Pythons while it develops to a level worthy of the ISFL.
With the beginning of the S39 season in the DSFL, Plant Based was expected to have a breakout season with the Portland Pythons. The team had built a roster that was deemed to be 'championship ready', and Based was the integral part of the receiving corp that would attempt to make this happen. The team had a strong showing through most of the season, with Based averaging just over a touchdown per game with around 80-90 receiving yards in each to go along with the scores. Within the division, competition was high and the Pythons playoff chances rested firmly in the last week of the season in a win and you're in scenario. Unfortunately, the Pythons were unable to come away with the win, leading to missing a spot in the playoffs despite a winning record. Based managed to tie the seasonal receiving touchdown record for the DSFL with 15 touchdowns, failing to break that mark in the final game of the season with one of only two touchdownless games of his season.
