After a rocky training camp, Stinkwater caught 4 passes in each of his 1st two games. He exploded onto the scene in week 3 at Austin when he hauled in 5 catches for 91 yards and 3TDs. Arizona got the road win near the beginning of their 8 game winning streak. Captain slid back into the supporting role for the remainder of the season, only catching 3 TDs in the other 15 games of the regular season. He helped the Outlaws move past The Orange County Otters in the first round with his 4 catches and 81 yards, but they fell to the eventual champion Honolulu Hahalua in the ASFC title game. Stinkwater broke 100 yards and hauled in a late 4th quarter TD, but the season ended in heartbreak yet again. + | What a season for Stinkwater and the Arizona Outlaws. He had a huge breakout year and recorded 1048 yards and 9 touchdowns on 76 catches. And, of course, the Outlaws went on to win the Ultimus. "Captain" started off slow with no TDs in the first two weeks, but burst on to the scene in week 3 with 6 catches for 106 yards and a touchdown in week 3 against the New Orleans Second Line. Similar production in week 6 saw Stinkwater haul in 6 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown. After week 8, the Outlaws sat at 3-5 and on the outside looking in at the playoffs. After a players-only meeting before traveling to Colorado for week 9, Stinkwater was quoted as saying, "this losing stuff sucks. Let's not do it anymore". Lo and behold, they would not lose another game in the regular season or post season. They finished 11-5 and hoisted the trophy at the end.

+ | Like S37, S38 was another great season for the Arizona Outlaws and their WR, "Captain" Billy Stinkwater. He put up another 1100 yards on 77 catches, both improved from a year prior. He also got double digit TDs for the fist time in the ISFL, hauling in a total of 12 over the course of 16 regular season games. Ever the team player, Stinkwater was much more excited about the Outlaws winning back to back Ultimus Championships. Following the final whistle, he and his teammates were already talking about a threepeat. Stinkwater did not have flashy individual stats in the playoffs (2 catches for 47 yards in the conference championship game and 3 catches for 27 yards in the Ultimus). Still his threat on the outside allowed his teammates to get open on routes that would have otherwise been covered by a double-team or safety help over the top. Kirkby with 2 TDs in the conference championship and Staggs with 2 TDs in the Ultimus both credited Stinkwater with opening up the field.

+ | "Mr. Consistent". "Captain" might need to change his name as he caught 76+ balls and 1000+ yards for the 4th year in a row. To go along with his 78 catches and 1040 yards, he also hauled in 12 TDs for the third consecutive year. Furthermore, in an unannounced move, Stinkwater lost his captaincy. When asked about it during the preseason, Stinkwater replied "I don't know what happened. I walked into the meeting room, and my name wasn't up there anymore". He went on to say that "winning is the most important thing" and that he wouldn't "let this be a distraction". True to his word, he put up solid numbers while contributing to the 3rd championship in 4 years for the Arizona Outlaws. Individual highlights include 7 catches for 109 yards and 2TDs in week 3 at the San Jose SaberCats and 4 catches for 84 yards and 2 TDs in week 5 against the Orange County Otters. He also returned a kickoff for a TD in week 10 against the Honolulu Hahalua.

Early years
"Captain" Billy Stinkwater was born in Lexington, KY. Little is known about his family. His father may have been a cat trainer, but he died before Billy was born. He is also estranged from his mother due to several incidents during his childhood. She threw away his favorite teddy bear because his room was too messy and made him eat off the floor when he kept throwing his food on it. His household was very dysfunctional; he grew up thinking that his mother was his sister and his father was his brother. They fought often, sometimes ending in violence. For example, his mother once snapped her index finger because his father was late to church; his father once threw himself down the stairs after his mother dented the car. He has a deaf sister and a brother who works as a stripper.
Later, he had a stepmother who was Inuit. His stepbrother, Cleet, is older than his parents. When Cleet hit a mid-life crisis, he fought with Billy's father constantly and slept with his mother.
High School Career
Billy was a three-star prospect by all the major recruiting services. 247sports had him ranked as the No. 170 wide receiver and No. 20 overall prospect in the state of Kentucky.
He caught 84 passes for 1,541 yards and 22 receiving touchdowns as a senior in helping Paul Laurence Dunbar finish 15-0 and win the Class 6A championship over St. Xavier. His 22 receiving touchdowns tied for second in Kentucky High School Athletic Association single-season history while his 1,541 receiving yards ranks among the state's top-5 single seasons in KHSAA history. He had an additional touchdown on a punt return. His accolades include first-team All-state honors by the Kentucky Sports Writers Associaton and being named to the KY Super All-State Football Team by KY.com.
As a junior, he caught 31 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns.
He was also on the varsity basketball team.
He chose UK over Louisville, Western Kentucky, and Middle Tennessee.
College Career
Freshman
Billy saw action in all 13 games, mostly on special teams. He had two catches for 51 yards and a touchdown in a blowout win over Murray State.
Sophomore
He played in all 13 games with two starts against Eastern Michigan and Tennessee. For the year, he had seven catches for 75 yards.
Junior
Stinkwater started all 13 games. He led the team in receptions with 67 catches for 603 yards and two scores. His best game came against Tennessee where he had 8 catches for 144 yards and one touchdown.

2049 ISFL scouting combine (S34) |
Portland Pythons
S32
Stinkwater was a late season pickup for Portland.
Minnesota Grey Ducks
S33
After a short S32, the young wide receiver was selected in the 2nd round by the Minnesota Grey Ducks. Stinkwater got off to a hot start with 6 catches for 67 yards and a touchdown in his debut. He quickly became a fan favorite with his post-touchdown salute to the crowd. The next few weeks weren’t very productive with only one or two catches each game in weeks 2-4. His breakout game came in week 5 against the Tijuana Luchadores when he caught 5 passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, this production was short lived, and he only caught one more touchdown pass the rest of the year. Frustrated heading into the playoffs, Stinkwater got back on the board with one touchdown in each playoff game. Sadly, Minnesota was not able to complete the comeback against the Norfolk Seawolves in the Ultimini. Stinkwater, ever the optimist, was still upbeat after the game saying, “On to next year. Look out SFL!”
S34
Stinkwater expected to be in the big leagues in S34, but that didn't work out. The Arizona Outlaws had a full depth chart at wide receiver, and management wanted Stinkwater to get some more games reps. To them, 14 starts in the DSFL would be better for his development than seeing a couple targets per game in the ISFL. He did not disappoint. On his way to a Pro Bowl season, Billy hauled in 53 catches for 1011 yards and 11 TDs. His yards placed him in 8th for the year, while his TDs put his in 2nd place. Just for good measure, he recovered two fumbles along the way.
The team had success as well, finishing tied for first in the North Conference at 9-5. After a strong win over the Kansas City Coyotes, the Grey Ducks again lost in the Ultimini, this time to the Dallas Birddogs. Shortly after the end of the season, a DSFL insider saw the team equipment manager removing Stinkwater's name from his locker, a clear sign that he was ready to move on the the ISFL.
