Muhmmad began his rookie season at the safety position, but was later moved to cornerback. He experienced early success before losing momentum en route to a mediocre but respectable season. His breakout game occurred in week 3, where he recorded 7 tackles and 1 interception. He made a repeat performance the following week, however was benched at free safety for Hamish MacAndrew during week 5 and 6. Muhammad then returned to the lineup during week 7, where he instead started at cornerback.
