William Eaton (born August 4, 2039) is an American football runningback for the Norfolk Seawolves. He played college football for The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

William Eaton was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where he originally aspired to be a hockey player. He visited Regina for a Saskatchewan Roughriders game and fell in love with the team and the sport. William did his best to visit Mosaic Stadium in Regina as often as he could to watch the games, and when he couldn't he was watching reliably on tv at home. Eaton wore a watermelon hat to every game he attended no matter how cold the harsh Saskatchewan weather got. On a personal level, he tried playing for various local amateur teams, but he had the most fun simply playing with his friends. His parents noticed his talent for the sport and sent him to the US to play for a youth football academy before he eventually decided to play for Penn State. Having already spent so much time away from home at the prep school, the transition to the Nittany Lions was fairly simple and he shined with his unique skill set.

College career

William started as a backup in the Penn State lineup as a Freshman, but quickly became the primary option once the starter was injured part way through the season. He went on to start the remainder of the season helping the team finish 7-6 earning a bid to a lower tier bowl game where they would lose. He was once again the backup to start his Sophomore year, but quickly moved up the depth chart as his performance far outstripped the rest of the players in the backfield. The team went on to finish 8-5 once again reaching a lower bowl game and also losing. As a Junior, the backfield was Eaton's to lose, and unfortunately in the second game of the season he went down with a lower leg injury forcing him to sit out the rest of the season delaying his draft declaration. He would return as a Senior and lead the team to an 11-2 record and a win in a national bowl game before declaring for the DSFL draft.

DSFL career

Minnesota Grey Ducks

William Eaton was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Grey Ducks after declaring his eligibility following the trade deadline. Eaton participated in team activities, but did not see any snaps during the Grey Ducks' last four games or during their Playoff run. The Grey Ducks would lose to the Portland Pythons in the first round ending Eaton's first season in the DSFL.

Norfolk Seawolves

Eaton was drafted to the Norfolk Seawolves in the 5th round of the Season 48 DSFL draft, pick 34 overall. When attending camp, Eaton was moved to the Defensive side of the ball and played Safety which he had experimented with a few times in his career. William started all fourteen regular season games, recording 61 tackles and 6 sacks to help lead the Seawolves to become the Southern Conference regular season champions and homefield advantage over the Tijuana Luchadores in round one of the playoffs. Unfortunately, Norfolk was unable to defeat the Luchadores in round one and Eaton's first full DSFL season came to an end. Eaton recorded three tackles in the loss as well as returned three kicks for a total of 54 yards.

ISFL career

Austin Copperheads

William was drafted in the 1st round, 9th overall to the Austin Copperheads alongside Norfolk teammate Billdozer Dauterive. He was informed by his new team that he would be moving back to the other side of the ball to play running back once again.
