Luke Lee Skywalker (born January 7, 2013) is an American football quarterback who is currently signed to the Honolulu Hahalua. He played college football for University of Michigan and spent his DSFL season with the Norfolk Seawolves, where he won DSFL S21's Performance of the Year and S23's Ultimini.

Early years

Luke Skywalker was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Dr. Lee, a electrical engineer, and Kim Skywalker, a piano teacher. Both of his parents graduated from the University of Michigan, and his childhood Saturdays were spent cheering on his parents' alumni with his parents. Skywalker developed an interest in football as a youth, and joined little leagues until he entered high school at Parkland High.

Tragedy struck in high school when the Skywalker family discovered that Kim had brain cancer. Skywalker took a short break from football to be with his family, but his mother encouraged him to find his joy on the field. He returned to football his sophomore year in high school, and eventually brought his team to multiple Division I championship games. Skywalker often said that his high school football career was dedicated to his mom, and his skills as a leader on and off the field earned him a full ride to Lehigh Valley University, Ohio State, University of Michigan, and several other schools.

Due to his mother's illness, Skywalker decided to stay near to his family and chose to start his freshman year at Lehigh University before ultimately transferring to Michigan after his mother made a full recovery.

College career

Skywalker started his freshman year at Lehigh University as a backup to Tyler Monaco where, like most freshmen, he saw little in-game play, but was known as a force in the locker room. He played for one game when Monaco became ill with the flu, where he threw for a total of 140 yards and 3 touchdowns to overwhelm Lafayette University 40 - 3.

After his freshmen year, Skywalker transferred to his dream school, the University of Michigan, where he served backup to Shea Waterson until he replaced an injured Waterson during the third quarter of the Ohio state game. He went 16-or-21 for 190 yards and two touchdowns to bring his team to victory.

Skywalker started his junior year as the starter for the Wolverines. Harbaugh would go on to praise Skywalker as a great leader, citing the final game of the season against Ohio State. The Wolverines entered halftime losing 3 - 21 due to a combination of bad play calls and an injured defensive line. Skywalker rallied his team to overcome the deficit, throwing 5 touchdowns and running in 1 to eventually win the game 42 - 28. He would lead his team to an undefeated season, leading his team to their first Rose Bowl game (and win) in his junior year where he was named MVP of the game.

His senior year would be the best season ever, breaking 3 Michigan records (most passing yards in a game, most touchdowns in a game, most yards run by a quarterback in a season). He would bring the Wolverines to the first College Championship game where he set a school record for passing yards in a game (505 yards, record previously held by Devin Gardner), although his team would ultimately fall to Alabama in a heartbreaking OT.

Season 21

During Skywalker’s rookie season in S21 at the DSFL, Luke showed great skills in both leadership and being a quarterback. Skywalker's best week came in Week 4 (vs Minnesota 42 - 10) with 11/15 completions, 3 of which were touchdowns, and a quarterback rating of 129.7. Luke and the Seawolves closed their regular season with a winning record of 8 - 6 - 0 which earned them a spot in the DSFL playoffs. This would be Norfolk's first time in the playoffs, and, unfortunately, it showed. Although they put up a valiant effort, the Seawolves were defeated in the first round by the S21 DSFL champions the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers.

Skywalker finished his first year as the co-quarterback for the Norfolk Seawolves with 1364 yards, 12 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 73.4. While Skywalker did have 7 interceptions in his rookie year, Luke has been quoted for saying that he is working on increasing his intelligence in the game to try and drive down that number for future seasons.

At the end of the regular season, Skywalker was nominated to be the DSFL All Pro Second Team QB. His impressive work during his rookie year also yearned him several nominations in the DSFL Season 21 Awards, and his amazing game in Week 4 earned him Performance of the Year.

Season 22

Unfortunately, like many sophomore years, Skywalker showed a slight regression in his skills. Skywalkers best games would be early in the season; in Week 1, Luke threw for 2 TDs and 131 yards with a 14/22 completion rate against the Luchadores for a win, and in Week 3, threw for 2 TDs and a 11/15 completion rate against the London Lions in a 26-27 loss. The rest of the season would result in zero touchdowns.

Although he still had the highest passer rating in the Norfolk Seawolves (69.9%), Skywalker’s lack of touchdowns (4 for the whole season) and percent completions (53.1%) forced the Seawolves to place Skywalker in a more back seat role in favor of his teammate S. Ramza, although the two quarterbacks would still work together on the field. His sophomore year would find Skywalker and the Seawolves with a win/loss of 8/6, a ratio good enough to get into the playoffs. However, similar to his freshman year, the Seawolves would have a heartbreaking loss in the first round, losing 13 to 16 to the Luchadores with a Smal field goal in the last quarter of the game. The Luchadores would go on to win the Ultimini against the London Lions.

While Skywalker did not have a dream season, Luke dedicated all of the hard work he did this season and this offseason to his mother.

Season 23

Season 23 began with a bang for Skywalker and the Seawolves. Norfolk started their season with a 5-game winning streak, shattering their previous record. Although Skywalker shared the season with Ramza, his co-quarterback, Luke threw 2 touchdowns in the first 5 weeks to help solidify the Seawolf victory. The rest of the regular season would see Skywalker throw 7 more touchdowns for 1142 yards with a passer rating of 76.4, posting his best passer rating during his DSFL tenure. Luke would also rush for 33 yards, almost trippling his previous year's stats. Skywalker would have his best game in week 14, throwing 2 touchdowns with 154 yards and at 15/20 completion percentage. Skywalker would have very few passes in the conference championships, but he came back strong in the Ultimini game when Luke and Ramza threw a touchdown apiece, bringing to Norfolk the Ultimini trophy for the first time since the team began.

Season 23 would be the last season for Skywalker at Norfolk. He is moving to Hahalua for season 24, where he will likely be taking over as starting quarterback. During the transition, Skywalker has been quoted for saying that he is planning on switching his approach to being a quarterback. Although he had dedicated his time at Norfolk as a pocket passer, Skywalker plans on streamlining his future skills toward being a game manager. Skywalker loved his time at Norfolk and will miss his team insanely. He dedicates his trophy to his parents.

In S22, Luke Skywalker was drafted in the 6th round, 1st pick to the Honolulu Hahalua. When asked about his draft, Skywalker commented "Well, Brady got drafted in the 6th round and look what he did. We were both underdogs at Michigan, and maybe were considered underdogs in the pro leagues, but we showed them at Michigan, and I'll do it again at the NSFL!"

Season 24

After coming off the Norfolk Ultimini win, Skywalker was revved up for his start at the ISFL. Set as the starting quarterback for the Honolulu Hahaluas, Skywalker’s rookie year showed a lot of promise and power. He set several game, season, and career records for the Hahaluas, and his performance throughout the season earned him a nomination for offensive rookie of the year.

Week 3 was one of several high points for the rookie quarterback, setting the Hahalua’s game record passing rating with 125.3, Skywalker would throw 2 TDs with 0 interceptions to help his team get their second win of the season. He would continue his domination into Week 5, where Skywalker would through 3 TDs in one game, setting another game record for his team. Week 16 would highlight Skywalker’s development in accuracy through the season, where Skywalker would through 26 completed passes for 297 yards, setting his final set of game records.

Skywalker set several season records during his rookie year, having the highest number of passing completions (273), passing yards (3077), passing TDs (19), and passing rating (83.3). He also ended up tied in first place in the league or least number of interceptions thrown in a season (8). Skywalker ended his season with a surprise: he was inducted into the Norfolk Seawolves Hall of Fame for his DSFL career. He has been said that he is so proud of his award, and his love for the Fleet has never left. He hopes to continue making both his first home team and his new home team proud and he continues to develop his passing and game management skills in the offseason.
