Jason Waterfalls (born December 4, 2022) is an American football safety who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Ohio University (OU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Jason Waterfalls was born in Wheeling, WV, the youngest child in the family. He was often met with a cry "Don't Go" that sometimes landed him in trouble. He was involved in an accident in high school, but was able to overcome and was a multiple positional star as both a wide receiver and running back for the Wheeling Park Patriots. Due to the accident, his grades did suffer and he was not recruited highly, but was able to make his way into a D-I school. In his time in high school, he was a well known person around the city who often donated his time to help people, and was a very personable kid. Ultimately it was here he found his passion for helping people that led to his desire to get his degree. Specifically working with local legend Moondog, a fan favorite who is an older man with few teeth and some disabilities, but a heart of gold who rides his bike around the city. Jason often helped him travel and made sure he was able to make appointments as needed.

College career

Jason had to work his way onto the team in Ohio, given a scholarship but redshirting his first year to work exclusively on focusing on school and grades. In his freshman season, he was able to see the field only sporadically, shifting between defensive back positions to find opportunities and often performing on Special Teams for coach Frank Solich. In his sophomore season, he had earned the trust of the coaching staff and made his way into the regular rotation on defense. While only playing still around 35% of snaps, he was impactful enough to make 3 interceptions and defend 5 passes. In his junior season, he was solidified into his starting spot as a hard worker who made his way as kind of a rover on the field, able to play man coverage as a corner, slide into a linebacker spot in a small unit or most often play in the safety role. In his junior year he managed to make 4 interceptions and had 11 passes defended. Finally in his last year he had a standout season, playing every down and recording his one and only sack of his career, also getting 7 interceptions and 16 passes defended while being a big rover. Jason's biggest success was that he also graduated in that time, with a degree in business.
