Brandon "Overdrive" Prince (born February 22, 2019) is a former American football runningback who spent the entirety of his ISFL career with the New York Silverbacks. He spent 9 seasons in the ISFL, played college football for Eastern Michigan (EMU) and played in the DSFL for the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. He is widely regarded as the best draft steal of Season 28.

Early years

Brandon Prince was born on February 22nd, 2019 in Allen Park, Michigan. As a child, his family was impoverished and struggled to find housing and food. Prince recalled during that time period he "thought every day [he] was gonna die of hunger". He did manage to get an elementary education however, and went to middle school as normal. His brother Darrelle was born on July 5th, 2029, and Prince said later in interviews "I had never had a friend in school, so once Darrelle was able to talk, we were closer than a pack of sardines". During this time, Prince struggled academically, and barely finished middle school. However, in high school, Prince turned things around academically and got honor roll during his freshman year. During his sophomore year at high school, a friend of his said that Prince should try out for the football team after they had played a bit of backyard football on the weekend. Prince according to his own admission never thought he was any good at football up until that point. When he tried out however, he made the team and quickly cemented himself as the 2nd string running back. Things stayed that way, with Prince getting few carries until his Junior year, when on opening day, the starting running back suffered bruise ribs on a hit early in the 3rd quarter. With Prince having an opportunity, he made the most of it, racking up 72 yards in the next quarter alone. Prince didn't amount to much following this however, but kept the starting job. During week 4 of his Senior season, Prince broke off for a 92 yard touchdown run, where he earned the nickname "Overdrive" for his speed during the play. After another disappointing season, only a few college teams chose to offer him a scholarship at running back. Prince chose Eastern Michigan University, as that was where his grandfather had gone to college.

College career

Prince was brought in as the 5th string running back, but quickly moved up the depth chart now that he had a better diet, better coaching, and had matured more as a player. During his true freshman year, Prince broke off for a 57 yard run in the final minutes of a 62-7 loss to Michigan State University, which would be Prince's first collegiate touchdown. After climbing up the depth chart, he made his first start on Week 9 of the 2037 season after the starting running back fumbled twice in their previous game to Akron. Prince made the most his chance, tallying 135 yards and 2 touchdowns in a win vs Northern Illinois. Prince was named starter ahead of his Sophomore year, and his true potential began to show. He ran for 1,019 yards that season, including 181 in a game vs Central Michigan where he also racked up 3 touchdowns. Prince also finished the year with a conference leading 15 touchdown runs. His Junior season would prove to be another step up, gaining 1,393 yards and 14 touchdowns in a year which saw Eastern Michigan have a winning record at the end of the year for the first time since the 2029 season. More eyes were on Prince following his Junior campaign, not only for his stats, but also for his arrest on April 14th 2040 for marijuana possession. He was released on bail one week later, which sparked speculations that Eastern Michigan was paying Prince, leading to more eyes on Prince. During the 2040 season however, Prince would break the Eastern Michigan record for rushing yards in a season with 1,711, along with again leading the MAC in touchdowns with 17. He also broke the record for most career rushing yards at EMU, with 4,327. Prince entered the DSFL draft in 2041.

Professional career

Brandon Prince was drafted by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers 40th overall in the Season 27 DSFL draft. In his rookie year, he split carries with teammate Big Chungus, with Prince getting less of the load. Prince racked up over 500 yards and 5 touchdowns in his DSFL rookie campaign. Prince was drafted by the New York Silverbacks with the 60th pick of the Season 28 ISFL draft. Prince had a stellar rookie season, recording 11 rushing touchdowns and 659 yards rushing, concluding with an Ultimus win at the end of the season. In the game, Prince recorded 126 yards rushing with a touchdown, winning Ultimus MVP. Prince was nominated for Offensive Rookie of the Year at the end of the season, though he did not win the award. Prince regressed after his rookie year, not reaching 1000 yards combined in the next 2 seasons. In that span he also only recorded 9 touchdowns. He returned to form the next year however, setting a new career high in rushing yards with 668, and recording 9 touchdowns. On top of his career year running the ball, he improved greatly in receiving, setting a new career high in receiving yards with 234. The Silverbacks won the Ultimus once more, giving Prince 2 Ultimus wins. The next season, Prince again set a career high for rushing with 866 to go with 10 touchdowns. Prince would again improve after this, posting his heat season to date, reaching 1000 yards for the first time in his career with 1022. He also posted 11 touchdowns, tied for his career best, and set a new career high in receiving with 371. Next year, Prince was again very valuable to the Silverbacks, posting 956 rushing yards and a new career high of 582 receiving yards.

With Prince getting older, the Silverbacks relegated him to 2nd string for the first time since Season 32. In limited playing time, Prince recorded 205 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. At the end of the season, Prince announced his intentions to retire following Season 37.
