Billy Jor-El (born August 27, 2032) is an American football defensive tackle for the Honolulu Hahalua of the National Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

Billy Jor-El was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Jonathan and Martha Jor-El. Jonathan owned and operated a small farm in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where Billy spent most of his youth helping outside of school work. Martha was a classically trained pianist, and her love for the piano rubbed off on Billy. Billy spent what little time he was not playing football, doing schoolwork, or helping on the farm, listening to his mother play the piano or having her teach him the basics.

Billy enrolled at both Roxboro Middle School and Cleveland Heights High School, where he starred both on the football team and music club for his athletic and music skills.

Billy was often called ""a gentle giant"" for his imposing stature yet gentle demenor; however his coaches noticed a remarkable shift in his on-field attitude. Billy would play with a astonoshing amount of violence unfitting to his off-field demenor. In a State Championship game during Billy's final season, he was involved in a sack that ended the opposing Quarterback's career with a compound fracture of both the tibia and fibula in his right leg.

College career

Billy Jor-El was awarded a scholarship and commited to play to his home state shool, The Ohio State University. He saw instant on-field action as a true freshman as a rotational player; however, most of his impact was made after his freshman year.

Billy was a true terror on the field, compiling near record breaking numbers during his career. He recorded 61 tackles for loss, 28 total sacks, and 239 tackles in 41 games from both the defensive tackle and defensive end positions.

He received numerous award nominations during his career, but did not win any awards until his final season. He was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and the Smith–Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2053.

Outside of football, Billy married his high school sweetheart, Reyes Rain, and received a Music Minor with a focus on piano. His Major area of study was Agricultural Communication, although he did not complete his degree before entering the Prospect Bowl.

Professional career

DSFL career

Jor-El was drafted by the Minnesota Grey Ducks at pick 14 in the second round of the season 40 DSFL draft. He became an immediate impact on both the field and locker room, solidifying the interior of the Grey Ducks defensive line and being voted defensive team captain.

Jor-El was a force on the field, totaling 48 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery in 14 games, starting all 14. His play was recognized by those across the league and was voted to the Pro Bowl roster as a starter in just his rookie season.

Both Jor-El's play and off field leadership led him to being one of the highest regarded draft prospects in the upcoming season 41 ISFL draft. Jor-El had numerous visits with teams picking at the top half of the draft, and would eventually be selected 3rd overall by the Honolulu Hahalua.

ISFL career

S41

Billy Jor-El entered the S41 ISFL draft as one of the more highly sought after prospects in a very talented draft class. It wouldn't take long for Jor-El to hear his name on draft night, as he was selected 3rd overall by the Honolulu Hahalua. An immediate call up, Jor-El became a key depth piece on the revamped Hahalua's defense. Jor-El started the season rotating in off the bench, playing as a depth piece along the line and the 2nd Defensive Tackle in 4-3 and Nickel formations. Later in the season, Jor-El took over the starting Nose Tackle role, starting 8 of 16 games, Jor-El helped elevate the defense along with fellow defensive rookies Liath Squirell and Alita Battle Angel from 13th in points allowed in S40 to 4th in S41.

Jor-El had a modest stat line for the season, totaling 15 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery in 16 total games, starting 8 of them.

S42

At the beginning of the offseason, Billy and his wife Reyes Rain-Jor-El took a delayed honeymoon on a Caribbean Cruise. Billy came down with a severe case of food poisoning from the oyster bar. He had to be air evacuated by helicopter to a nearby hospital, where he was diagnosed with a near life threatening case of vibrio vulnificus infection. During his recovery, Billy lost more than 130 lbs. in less than a month. A long, brutal recovery saw Billy unable to regain his former weight and stature, and after months of grueling rehab, Billy was able to pass a team physical at 215 lbs. Always the athletic freak, he worked with worked with coaches on the team to find him another position on the field, settling on a cornerback, safety, middle linebacker hybrid.

The change seemed to help Billy flourish, as he had an impressive statistical season at his new position, playing in all 16 games, of which he started 13, and recording 42 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 4 sacks, 4 interceptions, and 11 passes deflected. Astonishingly enough, Billy tied for the 4th most interceptions in the ISFL for the season. Fourishing in his new role, Billy continues to train to perfect his new position's skills moving forward.

S43

Another season, another round one playoff exit. Although the defense played incredibly well, led by All Pros all at all levels, the offense could not seem to keep up. An 8-8 finish to the season saw the Hahalua sneak into the playoffs and lose in dramatic fashion. Billy continued to push himself, ever driven to win the coveted Ultimus trophy and get himself a championship ring. Spending nearly all of his free time with the strength and conditioning team, Billy began to find himself as one of the best athletes in the league, becoming a premiere Defensive Back in the ISFL. His versatility and ability to absorb information at an alarming rate saw him play all over the field, primarily at Strong Safety, Nickelback, and sometimes at Middle Linebacker. By the end of the season, Billy's shift from Defensive Tackle to the Defensive Backfield was complete without much issues or blown coverage.

S44

Jor-El finally came into his own entering his 4th ISFL season, earning the second starting Cornerback spot on a very talented Honolulu Hahalua roster. Alongside fellow Defensive Backs Luigi Lanikai, Quendyn Quarterstorm, Seth Leavitt, and Alita Battle Angel, the Hahalua defense led the league in pass defense and was a key component of the league’s #1 ranked defense. As the cornerstone of this team, with a 4th ranked offense providing plenty of scoring to win handedly in most games, the defense led the way to an Ultimus Championship for the first time in nearly a decade for the franchise.

Jor-El put up new season high statistics in many categories in the ISFL’s 44th season, defending 24 passes, intercepting three, forcing a fumble, and making 63 tackles. Although not nominated for any pro bowl or all pro awards, Jor-El was ecstatic with claiming the ultimate prize at the end of the season.

S45

A season of what could have been. Entering the 2060, The Honolulu Hahalua boasted a championship caliber defense on paper. A defense with enough talent to dominate the league all season long. This would not be the case as this unit underperformed from start to finish, losing games against opponents who would finish with some of the worst records on the season. Many would point to the underperforming secondary; a unit that was ranked 10th in the league, even if the defense as a whole was 3rd in points allowed. This bend but not break defense ultimately failed the Hahalua in the playoffs, where they lost despite winning their conference.

Jor-El took the loss personally, working ever harder on his game, taking his play and technique to the next level. Many would watch him and could not recognize the former Defensive Tackle. Jor-El had become a true press corner and threat to take away the opponents primary receiver. With little time left in the offseason, Jor-El could not wait to move past the bitter taste defeat.
