Zed Keppler (born March 8, 2000) is an American football runningback for the Arizona Outlaws of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL).

Early years

Keppler attended Tunica-Delta Magnet High School in Tunica, Mississippi. He played alongside his older brother who was the QB at the time for the school. His first season on Varsity squad he played defensive back. The coach decided to try him out at running back his sophomore year and he earned the starting position. H Lase didn't really blossom until his Junior season. as a junior Kepler rushed for 886 yards and 12 touchdowns earning all-district honors. As a senior, Keppler rushed for 1228 yards and 22 touchdowns en route to being named First Team All District 5-5A. He also caught 33 passes for 556 yards. Super Prep named him SuperPrep All-Region and ranked him the No. 34 best player in Mississippi. Even given this accolades, because of his size as a senior Keppler didn’t have many D-1 offers. He chose to stay local, and go to Delta State University.

College career

His freshman season was over really before it even got started, he suffered an ankle injury in Fall camp and was not able to play his freshman season, choosing to redshirt instead. By his sophomore year, Keppler had gained the starting role for the Fighting Okra. In his sophomore season, he finished with 129 carries for 614 yards and four touchdowns with 26 catches for 229 yards and five touchdowns. In his junior season, Keppler averaged nearly six yards a carry. Exploding for 1062 yards and 11 touchdowns and 487 yards and 6 touchdowns through the air. he was awarded all-conference honors and half back of the year. His Senior season truly established his reputation as a dual-threat. Keppler averaged just under 200 yards from scrimmage a game his senior season. Rushing for 1736 yards on the ground and adding another 758 yards through the air. he finished with a school-record 29 total touchdowns. That record still stands today.He was first team all Conference and earned his invite to the NFL combine.

Professional career

DSFL career

As a rookie, Keppler only played in 8 games for the Portland pythons. He established himself as a nice counter punch to the starting running back in a backup role. He rushed for 485 yards and two touchdowns and also added five catches for 25 yards through the air. He was a vital part of the late-season surge to propel the pythons to the playoffs for the first time in three years. During his second year he was traded to the Minnesota Grey Ducks for a 4th and 5th round pick. again serving as a backup he rushed for 589 yards and three touchdowns also adding six catches for 33 yards to the air as a backup to the running back of the year Jamar Lackson.
