Xavier "Xave" Valorian (born April 9, 2000) is an American football defensive tackle who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Bethel University and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Born in a northwestern suburb of Chicago, Xave grew up not poor but not wealthy either. He is an only child to Garth and Freyna Valorian who did their best to provide for him. Xave was picked on in his early school days to his incredibly light-toned hair, often creating comparisons to a more elderly man than a child or teenager. Through this persistent bullying, Xave developed a thick skin for taunts and developed an inner fire that could be channeled into hits on opposing QBs. He discovered this gift during a game as an early child when the opposing OL began taunting him and calling "Gramps". Not only did Xave imemdiately blow by the line, the QB never even saw him. In High School, he holds the record for sacks in a season and percentage double teamed by opponents. He gained a reputation of having the speed and iontelligence of a college player while only a junior and would frequently force opposing coaches to switch gameplans to avoid his relentless onslaught towards the QB.

College career

Despite his talents on the field, Xave madethe incredibly surpirising decision to pursue a career off the field, electing to study Business at Bethel University, a small private Christian school in Arden Hills, MN. As the school is only D-3, Xave quickly earned a starting position and wrecked havoc on opposing QBs that were clearly outmatched. Depsite his desire to join the traditional workforce, fate would have other plans. The rare ISFL scout came to a Bethel game Xave's senior year and immediately was impressed by the speed and game knowledge Xave possessed. The scout approached him after the game and sold Xave on the possibility of joining the league in the next coming seasons. Xave officially declared himself eligible for the Season 36 ISFL draft, knowing he would need to first proof his worth in the DSFL in Season 35. Xazve left the Bethel Royals as their all-time sack leader.

DSFL career

Xave is currently signed off waivers with the Minnesota Grey Ducks and finished Season 34 with them.

He was drafted 4th overall by the Portland Pythons in the Season 35 DSFL draft. While listed as a Defensive Tackle, the team decided to play him as a Defensive End with Xave routinely rushing from the edge of the line. He found great success from this strategy and led all Defensive Tackles in Tackle for Loss (TFL) and Sacks. Xave has shown considerable improvements from his time with the Ducks due to a rigorous training regiment. These improvements propelled him to be considered one of the best defensive players of Season 35 and a top prospect of the Season 36 ISFL draft. Many mock drafts listed him going between first overall to fourth with near-unanimous league predictions of going in the first round.

The Season 35 Pythons enjoyed perhaps the best defensive unit in recent memory. Xave was a cornerstone of this defensive effort and made opposing quarterbacks' lives miserable whenever they went to pass. He was particularly upset at the loss to the Kansas City Coyotes in the North Conference Championship game as he had the worst performance of his early career with only 1 tackle to show for it. He has dedicated all his training to ensure that will never happen again.

ISFL Career

Xave was drafted to the Chicago Butchers with the 5th overall pick and immediately switched to a Defensive End to fill a team need. The switch will also give him leverage in upcoming contract negotiations as he can fill needs more easily on other teams while producing solid numbers each season.

Rookie Season

His rookie season was disappointing to say the least with only 23 tackles and a handful of TFL and sacks. The only real personal "achievement" was his penalties for the season. At 14 penalties for the season, Xave tied for 2nd all time in seasonal penalties, only one short of the all-time record. However, despite his own on-field failings, the Butchers made it to the NSFC conference championship. While the game itself with live in infamy due to serious bad luck on the Butcher's part (scoring a total of 2 points off a safety), it represented yet another season where Xave saw playoff action. 3 for 3 going into S37, Xave hopes to continue this trend and see the playoff once more. We are hopeful that his stats will only improve from here.

Season 37

Xavier's sophomore season saw very similar stats to his rookie season. The only statistical improvements he saw were an extra 3 tackles and significantly less penalties. A disappointing season from many perspectives as a player's sophomore season tends to see larger jumps than that. Despite the lack fo true improvement, Xavier found himself once more in the ISFL playoffs on a scrappy Chicago Butchers team that made it by literally one point in the final game of the season. The potential fairytale would be stopped almost immediately as the Butchers found themselves on the receiving end of another playoff beatdown, this time at the hands of the Yellowknife Wraiths. He has still yet to taste playoff glory and hopes that this next season may finally bring it. Although, it is unclear if this will come to pass as the Butchers are seeing multiple key players heavily regress and a full rebuild could be the cards for the foreseeable future.
