Will Stern (born May 1, 2022) is an American football defensive end for the Kansas City Coyotes of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Will Stern as born in Spokane, WA 20 years ago. Stern was a huge fan of running track in his early years however as he more athletic from running track he realized that he could use his talent in other sports and channel his competitveness in football. After middle school ended he went to the high school football tryouts and instantly impressed the coaches. Although he was not very big yet he had a lot of height that helped the coaches decide to put him on the defensive line as an edge/speed rusher. He continued to grow and gain weight for his position all throughout highschool and ended up becoming feared more, he was always the fastest at his position but now he had the potential to use some strength and push the opposing linemen back. He struggled to beat strong Offensive tackles consistently up until his senior season where he averaged at least 2-3 sacks per game, which helped him gain notice from some scouts at local universities.

College career

Will Stern graduated from HS in 2039 and went on to a local D-2 University two hours away from home to Central Washington University (CWU). He was offered a scholarship to play there and was happy to stay close to home, as once again he came out the first day of practice and impressed coaches with his athleticism and became an instant starter. He proceeded to wreck havoc in the backfield each game he played being the quickest of all the linemen off the line on every snap. He was once again named the best defensive linemen in the league following the end of his freshman season, where his team won the league title. He was able to accomplish both feats once again in his sophomore season and was even more dominant than the last season. Stern decided it was time for him to move on and move up the ranks in his career, as scouts had seen enough from him to know he'd make an impact for any team.

Professional career

2044

Will Stern had just got out of college and was looking to compete at a professional level. He found a representative of the DSFL who offered him a chance to join a team via waivers. This worked out perfectly for Will Stern, as the Kansas City Coyotes gave him a call a few days after the DSFL draft had occurred. Stern put his heart and soul into his training ethic, working harder than he ever had before in his life to improve. He wasn't a big name being looked at out of the gate since he didn't make the draft, but he showed his skills on the field in an impressive way. He put together a ridiculous stat line in his first season, the eye opener being the 66 tackles, however the 7 TFLs and 8 sacks were nice as well. The team ended up making the playoffs, but they sadly lost a close match to the Minnesota Grey Ducks in the first round, despite a great defensive effort. Fortunately for Stern, he didn't come away empty handed as he made the DSFL pro bowl.

2045

After having an amazing first season in the DSFL, Will Stern got drafted by the Orange County Otters (OCO) in round 3 with the 34th pick in the draft. This wasn't as far as Will Stern wanted to fall, however, being drafted by a historically great team like OCO made Will Stern super happy regardless. Will Stern spent this season in the DSFL as he was not ready to compete with the ISFL players yet. He didn't have nearly the season he had last season with respect to tackles, however, his force fumble rate when way up. He was able to force 6 fumbles and also recover 4 fumbles, as him and fellow KCC DE Amabacus Fitted combined for 19 sacks on the season. Unfortunately, this did not lead to a KCC playoff berth, as Stern was unable to fulfill his dreams of playing for an Ultimini. He did however earn a DSFL pro bowl appearance once again, as he closed off his last season in the DSFL with a strong stat line.

2046

This was Will Stern's first season in the ISFL, as he'd just been called up from KCC to OCO. His first season did lack a lot of excitement though. Stern was unable to record a single sack despite starting 7 of the 16 games for OCO. Stern also missed 4 out of 19 tackle opportunities, showing that he was not ready to compete with the top players at his level. He at least did record a few tackles for loss, but was largely unable to impact his team in a positive way as the Orange County Otters went 4-12 after going 9-7 the previous season, a huge fall in the rankings. Despite the hardships, Will Stern continued to put effort into training and did his best to stay positive. It was very much a learning opportunity for him, as he realized it wasn't easy to win in this league. This made him realize how important it was to stay loyal and contribute to the team in anyway he could for the future.

2047

While not quite as bad as his first season's stats, Will Stern still mustered a mediocre season in terms of contributions for the OCO defensive. Stern did collect a few sacks this time around though, as he was able to put up a much better stat line, the main eye opener being the 53 tackles at the DE spot. Stern continued to train, however he was not as optimistic as he was a season ago. The team suffered terribly, as they went 3-13 on the season, even worse than the 4-12 season from last season. In the locker room, Stern was not very helpful, as he didn't show up to every practice and was absent during some drills. It was looking like Stern's career might have been coming to an end due to his lack of effort in training. The team ended up undergoing a regime change late/after the season, and there were some trades/moves that contributed to the hardships as it was clear the team was in a rebuilding phase.

2048

It was this season where things turned around in the best way possible for Will Stern. Many, expecting OCO to be in another rebuilding season, were quickly surprised after they saw the Orange County Otters go on some incredible win streaks despite fielding many true rookies. Will Stern himself experienced ridiculous improvements, as he more than doubled his # of sacks, TFLs, and safeties which contributed to the team in a major way. Teammate Dominos Pizzaman was instrumental in Stern's improvement as he took up a huge amount of blocks as the nose tackle. Will Stern's worth ethic improved immensely this season as the culture began to grow in a positive way with the amount of wins the team was receiving. OCO ended up making the playoffs as the second seed in their conference, and made it all the way to the Ultimus just to blow a 24-0 lead. It was a miraculous run that ended in heartbreak, but it was still an incredible season nonetheless. Will Stern had his first playoff appearance in the ISFL, and he also won the Defensive End of the Year award for season 33 despite having been a third round draft pick. Things were looking up in a major way for Will Stern, as he also earned a pro bowl bid.
