Duece started coaching Cordova High School, leading them to many playoff aperances. DeAndre, Tre's oldest brother, played linebacker in Football and third base in Baseball. Terrell, Tre's second oldest brother, played quarterback in football and point guard baseball. Their mother was even an olympic swimmer before she became a principal . Tre was around the game of football since birth, so it was no surprise he started playing middle school ball. Tre would later go on to play for Bartlett high school. His started on varsity after the starting safety went down for the playoffs. He would become the full time starteer s sophmore year. He would serve as a swiss-army knife player his junior and senior year: playing safety, runningback, returner, linebacker, and wildcat quarterback. He earned All-State and All-City team spots those two years. He was also named Player of the Year for his team and lead them to a state championship over Knoxville. All these acollades would land Tre a 5 star rating and multiple scholarships from across the nation.

Tre commited to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a 5-star safety. However over the summer, Tre was caught with weed, alchol, and drugs in his car left by a former classmate he driven home after a party. Tre's scholarship was pulled and he severed a couple months of community service. After serving, Tre transfered to Northwest Comunity College in Senatobia, Mississippi before the start of the season. His freshman year, he served a very similar role to his high school years, playing multiple positions. Amd just like in high school, Tre stood out the most playing strong safety. He often drew compariosns to Ray Lewis or Lawrence Taylor, if they played safety, because of how viciously he would oppnents. He also earned many awards at the JUCO powerhouse. He was the top rated Juco safety in the nation, team captain his sophmore year, made All-State, and won the NJCCA championship. All this would would land him a scholarship at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, North Carolina. He had a stellar career there, playing safety full-time at the university.
