Tequila Sunrise (born October 2, 2000) is an American football runningback for the Norfolk Seawolves of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Virginia Tech (VT) before being drafted by the Norfolk Seawolves in the 2035 DSFL Draft (S20).

Early years

Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, he grew up playing beach football with the local kids. Even from a young age, he was able to take on and move swifter than a lot of the kids 5 years older than him. He was mostly raised by his grandparents, as both his parents were always gone. He was best friends with a star basketball player in VB who was babysat by his grandmother. By high school, he was shredding defenses with the pure strength of his legs that he had built up from playing on the beach. He lead his team to states and lost in the championship game freshman year. Sophomore year they didn't make it out of the quarter finals. Junior year, they made it to the championship game again and lost again. His senior year, they only made it to the semi finals. While some may see this as consistently disappointing results, Tequila took it as an excuse to train harder and grow more as a person.

College career

Because he declared for the draft at age 20, he had played only one season at Virginia Tech. He lead the team in scrimmage yards, rushing yards, return yards, and YAC. He was unstoppable in the screen game and was electric on the ground. Virginia Tech won the ACC Coastal Division that year and played Clemson in the ACC Championship Game, where they lost 35-21. Tequila Sunrise only managed 1 TD on 63 yards rushing that game and had 5 receptions for 30 yards through the air. While it was obvious that VT relied on their star RB to get production, he still felt it was time to move on to the pros. "When you're ready, you're ready," he said, "You have to take your chances while they are in front of you and not wait for anybody." Tequila attributes a lot of his success to the support of his grandparents and his other VB family, saying that they've always wanted him to be the best he could be.
