Solace Avenger (born April 6, 2024) is an American football linebacker for the New Orleans Second Line of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

"Solace was born as the eldest of three children to two lovely parents. From the earliest moment in his youth, he realized that he was going to be a large and imposing person as he was born ten pounds and three ounces with the most rambunctious of personalities to match!

Throughout Solace's youth, he wanted to play sports as much as possible in order to not only interact with many people but to become stronger and more agile. Through all the sports Solace played, American Football stuck the biggest chord with him the most. As he grew throughout high school, people noticed and told him that he had the size and ability to play the defensive line. Solace was enjoyed and inspired by those words of people as he was more interested in playing on the defensive side of the ball as compared to the offensive side of the ball as he believed the defensive side of the ball was more challenging but also more rewarding to master. As a result, Solace spent the rest of this high school years developing his technique and ability to be the best DT he can be! "

College career

Going into freshman year at UF, Solace's training with Ranger, the legendary teammate of Solace's father, more than paid off. Almost immediately, he was given the starting position at the defensive tackle position and helped to immediately reestablish the Gator Defense as a feared and legendary unit. Throughout Solace's freshman year, he was deadset on striking fear into every opponent he played. Against Kentucky, he had 5 tackles and 2 sacks; against Tennessee, he especially ate and had 10 tackles and 3 sacks! The run of dominant defensive success continued as UF managed to dominate the rest of the east and get revenge on Georgia especially as they finished with an 11-1 regular season record, allowing UF to matchup against Alabama in the SEC championship. The game was essentially the true national championship as both teams were going blow for blow in a low scoring defensive game. Despite a vailent effort from Solace with 7 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 FF, and a FR, UF was not able to tie the game on a FG and lost the chance to make the playoffs. However, this would spark a dominant college career for Solace as he received the first of four first team All-SECs and first team All-American as well. This run would continue all the way till his senior where they were able to finally get revenge on Bama, make the playoffs, and finally win UF's fourth championship, culminating in a SEC MVP, SEC championship MVP, and Championship MVP, marking off a legendary college career!

S33 DSFL: As this was Avenger's rookie season, he was eager to hit the ground running. As a rookie on the Dallas Birddogs, he immediately slotted into the starting Defensive Tackle position and never looked back. Avenger immediately made an impact on the Birddogs defense as he raised them from bad to just above average with his impact alone. As a result of his great rookie season, he was awarded with not only a rare rookie Pro Bowl nod, but also a rare first team All Pro for his diligence and effort to help improve the team's success. At the end of the season, Avenger had a great mark on the team as not only he was one of the team's best players but also a leader in the locker room after tallying 55 tackles, 5 TFLs, 8 sacks, and 1 safety. What a great start to his legendary career that is in the making.

S34 DSFL: Building upon his rookie season, Avenger aimed to improve his stats across the board and increase his impact across the board. Despite this aim, Avenger on paper did not improve his stats; however, that could be explained for two reasons: since he was established as one of the most disruptive DTs in the league, he was double-teamed like Aaron Donald and he had an equally as talented teammate in Desoto that was also racking up stats! Regardless, Avenger was awarded another Pro Bowl and All Pro Nod as he finished with 41 tackles, 5 TFLs, 1 FF, 1 FR, and 2 sacks. Another dominant season that was followed up by an expected championship run by the Dallas Birddogs as despite finishing 6-8, the team had a dominant playoff run and won their 2 games by a combined 40+ points by seemingly clicking on both sides of the ball, thus completing a legendary run for Avenger for his first ring and the Birddogs second championship all time!

S35 ISFL: Coming off of a legendary playoff and unexpected championship win with the Birddogs, Avenger finally transferred over to the New Orleans second line where he was expecting to be able to contribute meaningful minutes to his favorite team growing up due to his mentor Azarius Ranger. Despite joining the Second Line who had a stacked defense, Avenger was able to provide meaningful minutes at the Defensive Tackle position alongside his fellow defenders in Glim, Garciappa, and many others. However, Avenger had a bit of an up and season as he had a few games where he didn't contribute at all and a couple of monster games where he was able to make a few highlight plays and save the game. In lieu of this, Avenger felt a little embarrassed that he wasn't able to be as dominant as he was in the DSFL but vowed to improve greatly for next season and return to his dominant ways!

S36 ISFL: After a good rookie season with some ups and downs, Avenger looked to not only build upon that season and take steps forward into to becoming one of the best defensive players in the league but to improve alongside his teammates to become a playoff team. This season was a bit of a mixed success in terms of production and team success, however. Avenger had a couple of five tackle games with a season high 7 tackles in a game at the end of the season, culminating in 45 tackles, 1 TFL, and 4 sacks. However, he was unable to register any forced fumbles nor provide much disruption as he expected seeing a bit of a sophomore slump. NOLA experienced a similar sentiment as they were on the cusp of making the playoffs unexpectedly but collapsed in the last 4 weeks of the season to finish 7-9. Both Avenger and NOLA look to have a year 3 jump to become massive stays in the league to come!

S37 ISFL: After a sort of sophomore slump for the team and himself where they both missed the playoffs, S37 finally was the break through that was long waited for! This season marked a breakout for Avenger and the team as not only Avenger solidified himself as a top 5 Defensive Tackle and one of the best tacklers and best defenders in the league but NOLA finally made the playoffs for the first time since their last Ultimus run in S27! Highlighting the achievements, Avenger amassed 53 tackles, 2 TFLs, and 3 sacks, while only missing 3 tackles, giving him a top 3 tackle percentage among all Defensive Tackles in the league; in addition, he anchored NOLA's top 5 run defense, helping to allow less than 100 yards a game to help bolster NOLA's chances of winning games! His efforts greatly assisted NOLA in becoming one of the best all around defenses, helping to lead to a 9-7 record and the team's first playoff appearance in 10 seasons! This offseason both player and team will be sure to build upon the success in order to finally complete the drive for four!

S38 ISFL: Well, after a successful season last season as a team, NOLA unfortunately got unlucky and missed the playoffs in this season. The league is unforgiving, though the team had 8 one score losses that underscored and made the team record look worse than it is. However, on an individual level, Avenger had his best season in terms of overall efficiency. Avenger finished with 29 tackles, 4 TFLs, 6 sacks, and 1 FF. He also only missed 1 tackle for the second highest tackle percentage amongst DTs and was not penalized once! These stats and achievements led to him getting his first ISFL All-Pro nod by the sportswriters for his highly efficient work! He was one of several NOLA players that constituted the S38 All Pro class, highlighting the level of talent that NOLA has all around and how insanely unlucky the team was. Avenger and the team hope for a reversal of fortunes as their window continues to be open for an Ultimus!

S39 ISFL: Well, after an extremely unlucky season in S38, Avenger and NOLA rebounded greatly in this season. Avenger had another great season as he acquired 44 tackles, 3 TFLs, and 4 sacks. He was a part of a monstrous Defensive Line that hounded opponents and was top 3 in sacks by a team. The offense, however, while tweaked, was still inconsistent. However, it was good enough with a bit of better luck, to allow the Second Line to make the playoffs! In their first game, they played their rival, the Austin Copperheads. The game went as horrible as the team was all but dead in the 4th quarter down 18-0. This was the moment that the team clutched up. Jones passed for 3 chunk play TDs and with the defense getting quick stops, allowed NOLA to win 22-21! Unfortunately , despite a valiant effort next round, Jones' 3 ints were too much to overcome, ending the season with a loss to the Outlaws. The team will definitely build on this season and go all in for S40!

S40 ISFL: After a good season that resulted in a playoff berth, the Second Line wanted to build upon the good season. As a result, to fill in the gap at LB, Avenger decided to switch from Defensive Tackle to Outside Linebacker to help the team defensively and the result was mixed. Avenger had a monstrous season as he had a "triple double" in tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks. He was even second in the league overall in tackles and top ten in sacks. The mixed part comes in in regards to the team's season performance. The team after making the playoffs a season ago finished with a poor record at 6-10 and finished a disappointing 4th in the conference, landing them with the sixth pick. The team, while great defensively, had a stagnant offense with too many holes to overcome defensively. The team will look to rectify this in the upcoming draft to fix the holes in the lineup.
