Sean O'Leary (born September 10, 2010) is an American football wide receiver who is currently signed by the Chicago Butchers of the NSFL. He played one season in the DSFL for the Portland Pythons where he won the Ultimini.

Early Years

Sean O'Leary was born in Livermore, California at Valley Memorial Hospital to mother Judy O'Leary and Jeb O'Leary. He was the middle child of 3 kids and the only boy. His mother enrolled him into the East County Youth Football league at the age of 10 where he would play for the Liberty Lions and win the Turkey Bowl in an undefeated season.

At a young age, he played many different positions at the request of his coaches. It wasn't until he reached high school where his size and speed were beyond his peers. Initially, his head coach tried him at running back, but O'Leary struggled to produce from the backfield. After one of his teammates moved to another school it left a starting wide receiver position open.

The coaching staff began to explore the possibility of O'Leary playing wide receiver. The major concern was that he had never played that position before. To their surprise, O'Leary flourished at the position. His size and speed allowed him to dominate one on one battles and caused defense schemes to double team him leaving them exposed to the Lions lethal run game. He would finish his high school playing days a state champion and still holds the most reception, yards, and touchdowns in a single season by a wide receiver.

College Career

During his college years, O'Leary would attend Stanford University in 2028 and earn the spot of their number two wide receiver in his freshmen year. He would lead all wide receivers that season in yards and touchdowns. The team would go on to be back to back PAC 12 Conference Champions, finishing with a 7 - 2 record. They would meet up against the Michigan State Spartans, where they would fall short in a losing effort in the Rose Bowl game.

O'Leary would take the defeat pretty hard and it affected his play the 2029 season. Unable to find his game, the Stanford Cardinals would finish the season just 5 - 4.

In 2030, Sean O'Leary came out with a vengeance. He once again led all wide receivers that season in all major offensive categories. Leading the Stanford Cardinals to an 8 - 1 record and winning another PAC 12 Conference Championship. After a heartbreaking loss to the Michigan State Spartans in his freshmen year, O'Leary found himself in the 2030 Rose Bowl against the Iowa Hawkeyes. He would deliver in the biggest game of his career, finishing with 14 receptions, 193 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. He would carry the Stanford Cardinals to a 41 - 16 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes. With O'Leary being 3 years removed from his high school playing days, he has declared himself eligible for the NSFL draft.

DSFL Career

Sean O'Leary was drafted in season 18 in the 2nd round, 11th overall by the Portland Pythons. The young rookie wide receiver would join a team with Jay Cue at quarterback and Jake Dropson as the teams number 1 wide receiver. The Portland Pythons had been on the cusp of winning a championship for awhile, but haven't been able to get over that hump. Sean O'Leary would run as the teams number 2 wide receiver behind Dropson. The Portland Pythons would finish the season 11-3 and win the NFC North. Sean O'Leary would finish his rookie season with 58 receptions, 795 yards and 9 touchdowns. He would lead ALL wide receivers in finding the end zone. In the semi-finals the Portland Pythons would find themselves matched up against the Kansas City Coyotes. O'Leary would help lead his team to victory with 49 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 28-17 win. The Portland Pythons would finally make it to the Ultimini, facing the San Antonio Marshals. The Pythons would take a commanding 23-7 lead by the end of the 3rd quarter and never look back. They would go on to beat the San Antonio Marshals 23-10 and become Ultimini Champions. O'Leary would finish the night with 4 receptions for 68 yards.

ISFL Career

After a dominating rookie performance and championship in the DSFL, O'Leary would find himself as a top wide receiver going into the season 19 draft. The Chicago Butchers would select him in the first round, 4th overall. The team was rebuilding and had a few years before it would compete. The Chicago Butchers would find themselves surrounded in drama as one of the prospects would turn the team upside down. The drama led to the GM stepping down and some players requesting trades. The rebuild was not going well and the team had a big black mark on it to attract any free agents in the foreseeable future. O'Leary unsure of his future in the NSFL he focused on his training in the off season. As the season neared, the Chicago Butchers new GM informed him that he would be an immediate call up to help get this team back on track. As the season progressed, O'Leary felt that he was being mismanaged and underutilized. Rumors had it that the team GM was catering to the player that started the drama in the off season in hopes of keeping him as he was on a one year deal. O'Leary was unhappy and looked to declare himself a free agent at the end of the season. The team would add new management mid season and things began to slowly change. O'Leary would find himself as the teams number 1 wide receiver. He would finish the season with 70 receptions for 916 yards and 2 touchdowns. He would lead all rookie wide receivers in yards. The Chicago Butchers would still finish dead last in the league at 3-11, but O'Leary would stick around for season 20.

The Chicago Butchers would acquire Ahri Espeeyeeseetee in the off season and would see Sean O'Leary once again in the second wide receiver role. With no real run game this wasn't an issue. O'Leary knew that their offense would come through the air and him and Ahri would be a deadly duo. Chicago being Chicago, the team made waves as they made some controversial trades late in the season to improve their defense. Those trades would help build the culture and future Chicago was after. Also those trades would show immediate results as the Chicago Butchers would shock the football world as they upset the Orange County Otters and the Austin Copperheads in their final two games of the season. After low expectations entering the season, the Chicago Butchers would finish the season 4 - 9 and miss the playoffs again. Sean O'Leary however, would have one of the most remarkable seasons for a sophomore in the NSFL. The young wide receiver would receive for a career high 1,254 yards on 83 receptions. Averaging 15.1 yards, a long of 44 yards and 9 touchdowns. He did this all as the second wide receiver on the worst team in the league and finished 5th in receiving. Even after his dominating season, Sean O'Leary would get zero recognition from the awards committee. During the off season, Sean O'Leary would opt out of his final year in his contract with Chicago. Just to re-sign a mega 3 year deal worth 24.5 million and a 900K signing bonus to be the number one wide receiver for the Butchers.

With high hopes entering the following season, Sean O'Leary and the Chicago Butchers looked to compete. The team was 2-3 after their first 5 games and sat in a position to push for the playoffs. Unfortunately the Chicago Butchers would go on a 3 game losing streak and the GM Steelsound would trade draft capital to bring in more defensive talent to fix the problems. These trades would cause extreme criticism externally and internally, with one individual that would eventually request to be traded. At the halfway point in the season, Sean O'Leary stats would see a big decrease as the passing game was going through the teams running back. He would request a bigger role in the teams offense as he was unhappy with how he was being utilized. The teams strategies would not change much and Sean O'Leary would see a significant drop in receptions and yards. The Chicago Butchers would be on the wrong side of a few close games and would finish the season 5-8. Another disappointing season of being on the outside of the playoff bubble. The Chicago Butchers would see another GM quit and force the organization to find another suitable replacement on short notice. After some time searching they would conclude their search and appoint BayleyIsland and Muford as the teams new GMS. Sean O'Leary would finish the season with 64 receptions, 733 yards, average of 11.5 yards, a long of 50 yards and a career high in touchdowns with 14. O'Leary completed the first year of his mega 3 year deal, but unsure of his future in Chicago.

The Chicago Butchers would enter season 22 with low expectations which wasn't anything new for the team. The teams two new GMs had done an admirable job to right the ship in Chicago in as short a timeline as possible for veteran players like Mike Hockhertz and Sean O'Leary who have been loyal to the organization through all of this. But the start of the season would see the Butchers get destroyed in a devastating loss 51-10 at the hands of the Philadelphia Liberty. And the offense would never get going in the scoring department. Their biggest offensive game was worth 20 points and they did that only once all season. Opposing team defenses were able to hold the Chicago Butchers offense to 10 points or less in 8 of the teams 13 games. I think that speaks volumes to why Rose Jenkins was traded for draft capital. The team was 1-7 when they said good bye to their long time QB, who was replaced with Frank LaFleur. A 40 year old Walmart greeter with a lazy eye. LaFleur and O'Leary would find success together during the last 5 games of the regular season. O'Leary would catch for 26 receptions for 310 yards and no touchdowns. Averaging out per game to 5 receptions, 62 yards, average of 12 yards per catch, long of 23 yards and no touchdowns. Not bad for the 40 year old QB, that the last time he threw a football was one of those light up Nerf ones. O'Leary would eclipse the 1,000 yards mark on the season with two very questionable QBs, a testament to how good he is at his craft.

There was a new sense of hope surrounding the Chicago Butchers and the direction the ownership was taking the team. It saw key players such as Sean O'Leary commit for another 3 years on a team friendly contract. This will carry the super star wide receiver through his prime. So this move proves his commitment to Chicago and his teammates. O'Leary would get off to the slowest start of his professional football career through the first half of the season. The offense looked flat and would see the teams kicker lead the scoring. The veteran wide receiver would hold a closed door player only meeting to get the offense back on track. There isn't much details on what was said, but it seemed to work. O'Leary would begin to find his game in the last third of the season, where he would eclipse 100 yard games and 1 TD multiple times. This boded well for fantasy owner who held onto O'Leary. The Chicago Butchers would not be able to turn their season around, but would find themselves with the number one overall pick in the upcoming draft. O'Leary would finish the season with respectable numbers behind the teams new young developing quarterback. Even though the team has not had much success during his tenure, you can see the passion and determination he brings to his game. Playoff O'Leary is a sight to behold. If anyone has seen him in college, you know what I am talking about. I hope we get to see the Chicago Butchers finally make the playoffs before O'Leary hands them up.
