Sam Garrad (born January 10, 2007) is an American football defensive tackle for the Tijuana Luchadores of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Did Not Attend (N/A) before being drafted by the Not Yet Drafted in the 2027 ISFL Draft (S12). Prior to this, he had been drafted by the Tijuana Luchadores in the 2026 DSFL Draft (S11).

Early years

Sam Garrad was born in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan which is a small town just north of the province's biggest city of Saskatoon. He grew up playing for the Erindale Falcons of the Kinsmen Football League and was recognized as one of the top defensive line players early on in his life. He was placed on to team North Sask before he was taken on a U-14 Team Canada player. A huge part of Garrad's upbringing was his parenting, which saw his two parents - Susie and Walter Garrad - raise him to be a fine young gentleman. They always put things like respect and responsibility above anything else, but were willing to support Garrad in any way to achieve his goal of being a professional football player.

High School Career

Garrad's high school career began at Holy Cross High School in his freshman year where he was put instantly onto the senior team and began playing against players up to four years older due to his immense size. Garrad became a massive part of the Holy Cross defensive line, and was a huge contributor to their two provincial championships back to back in his junior and senior years of high school. Garrad retired from the Crusaders football program as the defensive tackle with the most tackles, sacks, and TFL's in the team's entire history, and is recognized as a cornerstone of their success during the four years that he was on the team. He was nationally ranked as the #1 prospect at defensive tackle coming out of high school before National Signing Day where he chose Arizona State University as his eventual home before announcing that he would be moving straight into the ranks of the DSFL.

Professional career

The professional career of Sam Garrad began in S10 when he signed a draftee contract with the Tijuana Luchadores of the DSFL. This contract would later turn into a draft pick in the following S11 DSFL Entry Draft, and now Garrad has played his first four games in a Luchadores jersey during the pre-season. He has close connections with a number of other players in the DSFL at the moment, including past team mates Luke Boechler, Eddie Rainer, Ryan Cobalt, and Eric Legstrong as well as opponent and rival running back Antonio Summer.
