Ryan Gordon Cobalt (born January 1, 2006) is an American football strong safety for the San Antonio Marshals of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played high school football for the Holy Cross Crusaders before being drafted by the San Antonio Marshals in the 2025 DSFL Draft (S10).

Early Years

Ryan Cobalt was born in Warman, Saskatchewan on January 1st, 2006 and it was obvious from a young age that Cobalt would be an exceptional young athlete. At the age of nine, he started playing for the Silverspring Titans of the Kinsmen Football League an immediately found a love for playing on the defensive side of the game. He soon took on a role as a coverage linebacker before his eventual transfer to strong safety at the age of fourteen.

High School Career

Cobalt played his first season of high school football with the Holy Cross Crusaders based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and was an immediate threat for the school's junior team. He was a major player and helped lead the team to a first-place finish and provincial championship while doubling as a running back during some games. In his sophomore season, he started to play varsity football, remaining at safety and it was here that his rivalry with Antonio Summer began to really take flight as the two continuously would butt heads during games. Cobalt was suspended in his rookie season after a verbal attack on Summer after the game but would be a strong part of his team's run to the City Finals where they lost to Centennial Collegiate nonetheless. In his junior year, Cobalt exploded into a role as a major piece in the Crusaders' puzzle and was integral to taking the team on its provincial run that ended in a loss to the LaBoldus Bulls. Following this, Cobalt entered his senior year and took it to a whole new level, being named defensive player of the year for both the KFL and the province of Saskatchewan. Cobalt would be suspended for the remainder of the team's provincial tear though after physically fighting Summer during a game, and had to watch as his team lost once again to the LaBoldus Bulls who continued their seven-year provincial winning streak.
