Richard "Dick" Leaking (born June 11, 2017) is an American football linebacker who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Stanford and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Richard "Dick" Leaking was found abandoned in a swamp tractor (that is, of course, any tractor used on the set of Dreamwork's smash hit film Shrek) when he was only an infant. Unfortunately for Dick, he was found by mongooses and not humans. On the positive side, however, these were friendly mongooses who lacked an appetite for baby Dick. The mongooses nurtured Dick, and eventually homeschooled him until he was able to hunt frogs and snakes with the best of them. When the mongooses decided toddler-Dick was ready, they released him back into the wild. Shortly after, Dick was found by his human parents, Hermann and Leslie, who taught him things every human needs to learn, such as communication with others, finding/eating food other than frogs/reptiles, and sacking bitch-ass quarterbacks who don't know how to get rid of the ball. They enrolled Dick in an integrated school that taught both mongooses and humans, and it was here that Dick was truly able to thrive. You may remember Dick from his role as Stringer Bell in HBO's The Wire.

College career

As a true freshman at Stanford, Dick was placed behind senior standout Haywood Jablomi on the depth chart. Dick did not see much playing time his first year at Stanford, and he resented the lack of hands-on practice time he was receiving, but whether he knew it or not, Dick did a lot of growing behind Jablomi. By studying Jablomi both on the field and off the field, Dick was able to earn the starting OLB role at Stanford. Through his next two years at Stanford, Dick accumulated 116 tackles (73 of those coming solo,) 26.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and one interception. That one interception came from the hands of legendary Florida State quarterback Wameis "Fuck It, Chuck It" Jinston, who was well on his way to winning his first Heisman Trophy thanks to offseason laser eye surgery. The interception caught by Dick would be the only interception thrown by Jinston that season.

Professional career statistics

After his short career at Stanford University, Leaking declared himself eligible for the 24th annual Developmental Simulational Football League draft. After many scouting conversations with many teams, Leaking had a pretty good idea of what was expected from him, as well as what to expect, from the different Developmental League teams. After what felt like days of waiting, Leaking was eventually selected in the sixth round with the sixth pick. Using the 46th overall pick in the draft, Leaking was selected by the Dallas Birddogs, his top choice in organizations. Leaking had enjoyed his conversations with the general managers and veterans of the Dallas Birddogs organization and (not so) secretly hoped they would be the one to draft him, so needless to say he was ecstatic when he heard this news. Leaking did not mind that he had fallen six rounds in the draft, because he fell to the best possible team.

Throughout the course of his first season in the DSFL, Leaking learned a lot, thanks in part to the high quality of players that shared the field with him. On the offensive side of the ball was future Hall of Famer Zoe Watts. Leaking credits his current tackling prowess to Zoe's elusiveness, quipping that she is "slipperier than a sturgeon in a vaseline factory." Also playing on the offense was Tristian Hex, a behemoth of a man with hands that are sticky like maple syrup. Alongside Leaking on the defense were fellow rookies that he immediately got along with; men like Raylan Crowder, Guy Fields, and Bob Roberts, each of whom possessed special qualities both on the field and off the field that assured Leaking he was playing for the greatest DSFL team possible.

After a (depending on who you dare to ask) wildly successful rookie campaign, Leaking continued to excel and improve in some categories while maybe possibly unfortunately regressing in another category or two. Leaking was drafted by the Otters of Orange County, who decided to keep him down in the DSFL for a season since they lacked any of the common huge glaring holes that a Louisianan linebacker might fill. And so, Leaking stayed down in Dallas for his second season, where he would end up leading the DSFL in both tackles (with 152) and post-game locker room ejections (with 4.) Leaking also set two milestones that are very important to him in this season: the Dallas Birddogs franchise records for tackles in a game (with 18, a statline he has never topped since) and tackles in a season. The Birddogs season unfortunately did not turn out the way Leaking dreamt it, but he balled out on the field and had fun in the locker room and that's what counts.

Now that Leaking had put in his time in the DSFL for two seasons, he was ready to test the waters in the big leagues and come up to the ISFL level. With that change in league came an even bigger change for Leaking - a change in position! Leaking shocked the dot football world in the offseason leading up to S26 by announcing that he'd been training as a cornerback all summer long with the hopes of replacing aging Otter franchise legend Korrin Abernathy. Before his position swap became official however, Leaking announced, he would play one final season as a linebacker, in the hopes of showing the world what he learned in the DSFL and earning that coveted defensive rookie of the year award. Alas, it was not meant to be, as Richard Leaking put up fairly modest numbers his rookie season, excelling in roughly zero statistical categories in comparison to his peers. On the flip side, Leaking went to the playoffs for the first time in his career!

With a mildly unsuccessful (but very fun!) rookie season with the Orange County Otters at his back, and a season's worth of taking both cornerback and linebacker reps in practice in anticipation of his position swap, Leaking was finally ready to fill the enormous shoes left by Abernathy. As a cornerback, Leaking shined in ways he had not since his rookie season in the DSFL as a birddog. Leaking managed to pick off opposing quarterbacks three times in addition to forcing the first fumble of his ISFL career. He also set a new career high for passes deflected in a season with 12. The Otters were unfortunately unable to continue their success from the prior season (and the 26 seasons before that), missing the playoffs for the first time in league history. Off the field, Leaking experienced a good amount of changes in the locker room along with the rest of the team upon witnessing general manager Jeffie43 step down - Jeffie was quickly replaced by Blasoon, who had served the team faithfully for multiple seasons in the war room.

Now that Leaking had shaken off a little bit of the rust and gotten some what of an idea of what playing cornerback in the ISFL is like, he was feeling optimistic about the upcoming season. The Orange County Otters managed to improve on their win total in S28, but unfortunately, only by one win, giving them a 7-9 record which was not enough to return to the promised land. Leaking, strangely enough, posted nearly identical numbers to the previous season. He had the same amount of tackles with 88, the same amount of interceptions with 3, and the same amount of fumbles forced and recovered (1 and 0, respectively). Leaking also saw yet another new general manager take over leadership of the team in this season, with longtime Otter GM Laser announcing he was stepping down. He would be replaced by Memento Mori, who joined the Otters in free agency the same offseason in which Leaking was drafted.

After an eerily identical season to his debut as a cornerback, Leaking had high hopes of making a name for himself as a stud breakout cornerback in season 29. It was unfortunately not meant to be his year; Leaking's third year in the ISFL was a year of both high highs and low lows. In the high department, Leaking scored the first touchdown of his career. He also managed one more tackle than he did in the previous two years with a whopping 89 (seriously, this is starting to get weird!) Leaking was unable to break his career high in interceptions, only managing 2 in S29, but he did both force and recover a fumble. The Otters continued their streak of uhhhh finding themselves and rebuilding amidst the sim transfer, but on the bright side, they did continue getting better, adding another with to their previous record and bringing them up to a respectable .500 8-8 record to end the season.

Fast forward to season 34 where Leaking, who was at a stage in his career where many would probably say he was past his prime, had an absolutely league shattering season. Well, maybe not league shattering, but it was most certainly the true statement breakout he had been waiting for, and it was enough to earn him the first award of his career, a cornerback of the year award which he had long coveted. Leaking primarily has his three pick-6's to thank for that particular award, although forced fumbles and interceptions in general certainly didn't hurt. As if individual success wasn't enough of a blessing to Leaking, good fortune continued to rain down on both Leaking and his teammates, as the Otters returned to the playoffs for the first time since Leaking's rookie season! Not only did they return to the playoffs, they were back with a vengeance, making it all the way to the ultimus until they lost on some absolute nonsense referee silver platter nonsense that Leaking still has not come to terms with. This season was without a doubt the best season of Leaking's career! But he's still got one more in the tank.. :eyes:
