Ricardo "Cardo" Morris (born January 10, 2010) is an American football defensive tackle for the Norfolk Seawolves of the Development Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Oklahoma University and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Ricardo Morris was born to parent Jackie and Jackson Morris in Edmonton, Alberta. His parent had recently arrived in Canada after leaving Mexico to follow the rest of their family. Ricardo's oldest cousin, Darren Morris was a successful NSFL player and well-known safety for the Arizona Outlaws who supported the family's financial move. Ricardo was a huge fan of Darren and would often spend his early summers and school breaks visiting his older cousin in the desert.

It was natural, then, that Ricardo would follow in Darren's footsteps and excelled at football in high school. His large frame lent himself to the line, whether offensive or defensive, but it was in his second year of high school when coaches realized that Ricardo possessed another unique trait: strong footspeed that seemed almost unnatural for his frame. The switch was made and it stuck: he was a defensive tackle who focused on breaking into the interior with speed and force.

College career

As a freshman with Oklahoma University in 2027, Ricardo was awarded a full-ride scholarship program for his football collegiate career. A touted Canadian prospect, Ricardo made the starting roster of the Sooners in his freshman season and saw regular starting reps over the course of his freshman season. He finished with 10 sacks and 62 tackles, including 22 tackles for loss, and earned a name for himself with the Sooners as an elite interior rusher.

Over the course of the next two seasons, Ricardo climbed scouting boards for the DSFL as he made his presence known on the defensive line. His footwork and agility off the snap was highly touted by scouts and teammates, who pointed to his ability to quickly get into the pocket as the key to his game. His footspeed is well defined as a collegiate prospect and his large frame allowed him to bully offensive linemen or beat them inside. Thanks to that ability, Ricardo earned more and more sacks and at the completion of his junior season was awarded with a new Sooner record for sacks in a season with 20.
