Early years

Reggie was born in Town Creek, Alabama to Linda and Lamar Culbertson. His mother was an elementary school teacher at Hazelwood Elementary and his father was a sound engineer at Fame Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He was raised with his two sisters and two of his cousins also lived with the family. He attended R.A. Hubbard High School where he was on the academic honor roll all four years while lettering in football his junior season. He was a two-star prospect coming out of high school receiving recruting attention from Indiana University, where he later enrolled, as well as Southern Mississippi, , Samford University, University of South Alabama, Alabama State University, Spring Hill College, Tuskegee University, Huntingdon College, and Birmingham Southern College. He enrolled at IU to pursue a degree in graphic design.

College career

Reggie played for Indiana University as a walk-on. His freshman season he played in the final two games of the season recording one tackle for a loss. The following season the team lost their two starting defensive tackles to NCAA violations and Reggie was thrust into a starting spot, starting all 12 of the team's games. He had a total of 23 tackles including four tackles for a loss and one sack on the year. His junior year he returned to his starting position anchoring the defensive line. He amassed 41 tackles this time around with 10 for a loss and two sacks. Following a very solid junior campaign, expectations were high for him his senior season. DSFL career

Reggie joined the Portland Pythons via waivers after not being selected in the 2034 draft. He will have another opportunity to be drafted following the conclusion of the 2034 season. He played in 12 games for the Pythons on their way to a 8-6 record. Reggie ran into some trouble passing the physical, forcing him to sit out weeks one and two. He originally tested positive for a banned substance which he said must have been in some cough or cold medicine. He then declined initial requests for a follow up drug test saying he was still taking the cold medication and he would be more than happy to submit a sample when he was no longer feeling ill. After the follow up drug screening, he was cleared to play the remainder of the season and it appears his suspension issues are behind him. He lead the team in tackles for a defensive lineman. He saw his first DSFL action in week two of Season 19 against the Norfolk Seawolves. He brought down Norfolk quarterback, Gimmy Jaroppolo, for the sack about halfway through the first quarter to record his first DSFL sack. He finished the year with one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and three sacks, recording his other two sacks in Portland victories Week 9 against the Tijuana Luchadores and Week 10 against the Minnesota Grey Ducks. He helped the Portland Pythons make it to the NFC Championship where they fell just short, losing 30-27 to the Minnesota Grey Ducks who went on to win the Ultimini. He declared for the 2035 NSFL draft following the Pythons' elimination from the post season and was drafted third overall by the Arizona Outlaws.
