Rayne Taylor Gordon (born June 2, 2013) is an American football wide receiver for the Yellowknife Wraiths of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL). He was drafted 7th overall in the 2033 NSFL Draft. He played college football for North Carolina State (NC State).

Early years

Rayne Taylor Gordon was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on February 6, 2013. From a young age, he had a inclination to play sports. According to his parents, he could always be found with a football or a baseball in his hands. This continued through his schooling, as he was a dual-sport athlete until 10th grade, when he decided to focus strictly on football. Gordon attended Northwest Guilford High School in Greensboro, and was a four-year letter winner for football. A star both on the field and in the classroom as well, Gordon was Salutatorian of his graduating class of 432 students in 2030. His parents always placed emphasis on academics because nothing is guaranteed in sports, and they wanted him to have a solid back-up plan. Gordon was able to step up to the challenge. On Signing Day, Gordon stepped up to the podium and put on the hat of the North Carolina State Wolfpack, where he would eventually spend his next two seasons before taking the leap to the DSFL.

College career

Gordon's career at North Carolina State University got off to a rocky start, as he injured his right leg and was forced to miss the first seven games of his freshman season. He was a four-star recruit, so this was a massive loss for the Wolfpack. When he returned, however, his impact was immediately felt. In his first game against the Virginia Cavaliers, Gordon caught nine passes and totaled 133 yards and a touchdown. In order to avoid reaggravation of the injury, Gordon's use was limited for the final three games in a lost season for NC State. In his sophomore year, Gordon was able to slot in as the impact starter that the coaching staff and recruitment staff knew they had found. Gordon led the 9-3 Wolfpack with 1329 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also rushed for 210 yards, largely coming from end-around plays. He was in contention for the Heisman Trophy, and ended up finishing as the runner-up.
