Raeni Clarke (born December 29, 2019) was an American football quarterback. She played college football for East Los Angeles College.

Early years

Raeni Clarke was born in Brooklyn, New York. She was raised by her grandfather in Crown Heights after the death of her parents. She remained in Crown Heights until the passing of her grandfather, after which she lived in various areas of New York within the foster care system. Her love of football came from listening to games on the radio with neighbors in her apartment building. This love was given greater shape when she attended a school assembly announcing that the school was joining Marcella Toriki's Girl Strong initiative. Clarke met Toriki, who would play a significant role in her athletic development. Toriki stepped in a few years later when Clarke was forced to move schools and found herself in a situation where the head coach would not permit Clarke to participate. Toriki's intervention led to Clarke's participation and a deepening of their mentorship. The two kept in close communication.

College career

Despite lengthy struggles within education, Clarke was pushed to go to college by mentor Marcella Toriki. She was accepted and attended East Lost Angeles College. While she applied to more traditional universities, she was not able to gain acceptance. While at East Los Angeles College, she studied Business Administration. While at school, she played a variety of positions on the football field, but after serious injury of the team's quarterback, Clarke was able to step into that role where she found great success. Despite the far distance, Marcella Toriki did attend her games on occasion, and helped encourage her to look deeply into not just pursuing football full time, but to think beyond the sport into greater personal development. On the field, she was able to lead her team to a winning season and successful post-season run. In the classroom, however, those lifelong learning issues continued to plague Clarke. She took four years to complete her Associate's degree. Immediately following graduation, she announced her intention to declare for the DSFL draft. Her arrival to the scene was also marked by an announcement from Marcella Toriki, celebrating the first of the Girl Strong program to pursue professional football.
