Mike Karpaasi (born February 5, 2012) is an American football defensive end for the Sarasota Sailfish of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL).

Early years

Mike was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Andrew and Jane Karpaasi as their third child. His father Andrew is CEO and one of largest share holderd of KCS, company found by Andrews grandfather. Even tough company isn't is working only on national scale it has provided good life for their family for generations and Mike was not exception to this. While his father and mother were always supporting their kids they didn't pave their road with money to make sure they got what they wanted. Still Mike was attending better schools and given lots of opportunities to choose from while looking for hobbies. They also traveled a lot.

Out of all hobbies it didn't take too long for football to rise to be his favorite. Trying out multiple positions but eventually settling to play on defensive line as he had been bigger than other kids of his age for most of his life.

College career

Mike didn't go to college right from the high school but skipped a year and in the end ended up joining his sister at University of Minnesota. His main goal was to get degree in economics and to have a career in KCS but as studying was never his strongest suit and football had becoming his passion he soon find his plans derailed.

He was able to break into roster during his rookie year and showed promise while playing decent 8 games as Defensive end. His good performances continued during his second year on the team with 12 starts and he was clearly improving in his game. But as he really didn't have incentive to give it all to football his performance stalled during his third year and show'd even signs of regression during his 4th year on college, while some of it can be attributed to injures it still left taint to his potential.

Professional career

DSFL career

By the end of his college career his development had stalled so it was not huge surprise that he was not getting picked on 2037 DSFL draft. Yet Mike started really working out and reaching out for teams to show he still has that potential that was shown during his early college career. In the end Norfolk gave him a tryout contract. Giving it everything he got he was able to break into roster of Seawolves and got his first games as professional. With help of better coaching staff he improved at rate that hadn't been seen from him since his early college career.

Karpaasi's season ended up being great one, better than any he had had before in terms of sacs or tackles for loss. Start for Karpaasi was hot while but his good performances were not enough to turn things around as Seawolves were struggling, after 5 games they had only won single game. But as Seawolves were able to turn things around and start their climb back to playoffs competition Karpaasi's stats started to drop down having several games with just one or zero tackle. Still Seawolves kept up their good momentum and Karpaasi had several good games in the mix so they ended up second in the conference winning one more game than Birddogs or Buccaneers. They faced Luchadores on their playoffs game, but lost on overtime, Karpaasi personally didn't record single stat during that game.

At the seasons he was picked for Probowl where he had very mediocre showing. He also won DSFL defensive rookie of the year award vote with one point margin.
