Matthew Curran (born May 18, 2016) is an American football defensive tackle for the Undrafted of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL).

Early years

Curran was born in Dallas, Texas, to his parents John and Ruth. He attended Duncanville Highschool in Dallas County, Texas and was hailed as a top college prospect at the defensive tackle position. Curran amassed a total 215 tackles and 31 sacks while at Duncanville. He earned the nickname "Massive Matthew" for both his prowess on the field and in the weight room. Curran holds the squat record for Duncanville at 850lbs set in 2016. He was a Texas Class 4A state champion for the discus and holds the state record in 2030 for 215' 3". Academics were also Curran's strong suit as he would win NJHS Outstanding Achievement Award during both his junior and senior years and was also the National Spelling Bee Champion in 2025. Matthew also attended the JROTC program at Duncanville earning his private pilots license at 17. Curran was also credited for saving a litter of kittens during a warehouse fire in Arlington, TX when he was 15.

College career

Curran attended Boston College, where he played for the Boston College Eagles Football team. He also competed for the Eagle's track and field team for the 2kg discus and held the 2019 record with 49m. In his freshman season Curran did not start but played in every game recording 40 tackles and 5 sacks. In his sophmore year Curran started and recorded 46 tackles and 7 sacks. In the 2035 season Curran became the all time leader in tackles at 64 with 22 Quarterback hurries. He was dubbed the Top DSFL Defensive Tackle prospect by ESPN coming off of his Junior year into his senior year. Curran's Academic progress was just as impressive as his on field performances. During his tenure at Boston College he Majored in Engineering at the Schiller Institute earning a 3.85 GPA. Curran also volunteered at the local animal shelter which saw a large increase in adoption rates due to his noteriety on the field.
